The only person who can keep you from donking off your chips is you. In ring games, if I play one table I start to get too loose out of boredom. To combat this I play more tables, which keeps me playing the way I know I should be playing. That is, I spread myself thin enough that I can't make tricky (losing) plays. That doesn't sound like your problem in tournaments though. It sounds like you're either getting too comfortable with your chips and not valuing them, or you're over-valuing your chip lead, and getting too aggressive. In either case the only way to stop is to stop. |

If you'r big stack and start to loosen up and make bad calls then just tighten up. If you, however, start to loosen up when having big stack and start using that big stack, not flat calling with rags late positsion in passive table, but instead raising with them, then that is kinda different play. |

| You can do this but why would you, sure you'll end up in the money, but your chances to win the tourney have diminished. And when you're deep-stacked play suited connectors, small pairs aggressively but look who is to act after you. You don't want a medium-size stack going all-in, but another big stacked player might fold when bubbling and if he calls you still have options. Be careful not to get to attached to the hand, there's no sence in losing a lot of chips when you're in a great position to win the tournament. There is no shame in folding. |

| re: Help me!!!!!!!!!!! poker Don't sit. You could tighten up and play a very select few hands. Who knows every once and a while you will get the nuts semi sitting and get a few more chips for the finish and get a great shop at bagging first. But if you just want to cash, your call. |

| re: Help me!!!!!!!!!!! poker stay tight, i have seen what staying tight will do for a game i have seen even big stacks stay tight and win the game you can also go down 2 to 4 cards lower but you may need to fold them at any tine you see high cards on the board. Pocket pairs try to get to the turn card with them, if you note the one thing i have is that the 3rd card comes on the turn after you just folded .... |

| I like to call a few hands when i GET CHIPS THAT I NORMALLY WOULDNT BUT NEVER WHEN THERE IS A ALL IN OR SUBSTANTIAL RAISE JUST WHEN I CAN LIMP IN TO SEE A CHEAPISH FLOP NEVER KNOW WHEN YA GOING TO HIT A LUCKY HAND AND TAKE DOWN A BIG POT ... WORKS MORE OFTEN THEN MOST MIGHT THINK ... |

| if i get a good amount of chips i like to pick on the players that have a low stack, yea your going to be jerk but you have better odds to bluff and with that better chance of getting more chips. But be smart when your going to bluff it's pretty much studying your oppenents as everyone has proally told you once. |

In my limited experiences with NLHE, Being a loose player can be a good thing when the table is playing tightly, but playing ''too loose'' is a common mistake with many overly aggressive type players i.m.o. If you can see a flop for a reasonable price with any suited connector like a or an , that is not playing too loose i.m.o. These are good hands with a lot of potential that can crush big pocket pairs when/if they hit the board. If the price is right to play them. But when someone starts playing junk hands like or something like a aggressively, they are just asking for big trouble as far as I am concerned. Say that the board hits ![]() and you are playing the . Now what!? What if your opponent is playing big slick or any Ace with a bigger kicker, now what are you going to do? What if your opponent flopped a four flush or a straight draw or even a straight? You are royally screwed in that type of situation! That's why those types of hands are trash for the most part and should usually be mucked as far as I am concerned. |
