freeroll maniacs I have been playing in various freerolls from different sites. I'm getting my butt kicked by the all in maniacs. BTW I'm only two months into online poker sites....way different than traditional poker that I always knew. Anyway, any pointer on these maniacs that do the all in thing all the time? thanks, Shane

Wait until you have a good hand as well and let them go allin in front of you and then call and ship it your way. There are many threads on this site talking about the best ways to win freerolls. Use the search function and you'll find tons of useful knowledge. Or you can go here and read some of the strategy articles that will also help you out a lot.

Freerolls are an amazing pain in the ass. For the most part anyway. I almost can't handle them and hardly play anymore. But yeah wait for a big hand then hope they dont suck out. Or deposit if you can into a smaller site with weaker players. Stick to low stakes and if you are good enough grind out a BR

Learn to adjust. -play a bit tighter during the earlier rounds. -get your money in when you have any edge. -most 'maniacs' are looking to double up or better or get knocked out. Its pretty common and the reason for it is because freerolls are long and tedious. You can play for hours and hours and make a minimal cash or nothing at all. So, you can either wait it out for all of the 'maniacs' to knock each other out, be a short stack by the time blinds hit 40/80-50/100 (usually) or risk it for an early double up or better, then wait it out. By the time 40/80-50/100 hits you're sitting on an average stack or better and play is slightly better at that point. -Like someone said, they dont have anything to lose by playing like this. But they can gain a lot by taking risks. A player goes all in with 73o and is called by 4 players. They're either going to a) lose, but not risk anything or b) quadruple up and and be at the top with a big stack where they can wait out the early stage chaos and be at a better position to cash or win. So, its very little risk for a a big reward.

re: freeroll maniacs poker DEPOSIT! Thats the best way to avoid the all-in maniacs. Full Tilt and pokerstars have some great games for $1 or less, slide a minimum deposit into your account and have some fun. Much smaller fields and significantly better play (although its still pretty messy at that level...we all love it!). Tilt are also running Sattelites to the FTOPS currently, with buy-in's starting for around a buck. Try your luck.
