| Flush question hey all.. well - this is an embarrassing post as i realized that after quiet some time of playing i don't know a basic rule (this is a situation i never had in a game...): In a situation where 2 players complete a flush the A is on the table, the pot is split or determined by the second highest card? i always thought second highest but after a long debate i had today i decided to check it out here... thanks! |

| The only time the pot is split with a flush on the board is when the all 5 of the highest cards of the particular suit is higher than what the players are holding. Otherwise, it goes to the player holding the highest card of that suit that is not on the board. Player 1 holds 9h 9c Player 2 holds 8h 7c Board: Ah Kh Jh 4h 7s Player 2 wins the the 9h. |

| re: Flush question poker Even when the board is all one suit, if a player has 1 card higher than the lowest on the board, he wins the hand. If both have a higher card, then the highest hole card wins the pot. Similar situation can happen in stud games as well. 2 players hold flushes of different suits. Win is decided in descending order of the cards. |
