| what I like to do is go up by 1/2 of my previous bet Example. 100 preflop, 150 flop, 225 turn and then about 325. Alot of the times when I do this, players fold on the turn. But just don't keep doing it, they will catch on and make sure it won't make a huge impact on your stack if you end up losing the hand |

| re: Continuation Bet on heads up game poker Ive hears that 1/2 pot size bets are good. Not only does it keep with the continuation but also is a very good value bet to get a read off your oppenent. HE either pushes and u get out cheap or he folds and u win the pot |

A value bet is one you want your opponent to call because you have the best hand and you want to extract more money for him. If you're intending to make your opponent fold, or if you plan on folding to a shove, then pretty much by definition it's not a value bet. You're not betting for value, you're betting for other reasons. Back to the OP, for me c-bet amounts depend on a number of things: stack sizes, villain tendencies, our image and pot size not the least among them. |
