Which Book Ive decided to break down and read another poker book. I am debating between Super System or Harrington on Holdem. Any body read these and which one is better? And is there any good limit books?

hi It depends on what you are playing. I'm not sure why you would pick Harrington's books if you're playing 'Limit'? And I really don't like SuperSystem (great in its day but I think its outdated for today's game). A good starter book is Phil Gordon's Little Green Book. Ed Miller for 'Limit Holdem'.

Read Ed Miller's book on Small Stakes Hold'em. If you are a limit player it should be at the top of the list. After that, I have to say that Jennifer Harman's section on limit in Super System 2 is actually really good. SS2 is actually quite a bit better than it gets credit for overall. Read Miller first though.

re: Which Book poker Its better. Ed Miller adds a lot to the book, and it discusses more No Limit fundamentals. Also, this assumes that you're looking to play cash games, not tournaments... The good tournament books are by Harrington or Moshman. Last edited by c9h13no3 : 12th April 2011 at 3:54 PM.

Thank you. Great advice. I am concentrating on tournaments right now. But will add Cash games later once I get better. I will get more info on some books by Harrington and Moshman. Right now im reading: The Poker Mindset by Ian Taylor and Matthew Hilger

I hadn't thought about going to a public library. Thanks seachicken. This can save you money by giving you time to look over the book to see if it is something you can use instead of buying it and finding out that its not exactly what you are looking for --- thanks
