I try to play a lot big turneys with small buyins like 2-4 dollars .
i usually manage to play until im the money but i always loose when it gets to the late middle stage . i play tight aggressive , but it seems that i always get called when i bluff or semi bluff , and evryone folds when i hit the nutts or get a monster . is there som major tells in online poker ? ive read about the usual tells , but what are the worst tells ? |

Search for this morning's thread entitled "Freeroll Strategy Analysis ". Although I would not recommend the writing style or verbage used, it is quite an accurate encapsulation of what you described. I too have the same problem ... this thread addresses that issue as well. Check it out. Sandy

These tournaments are usually full of donks... and most of the time they are playing more than one game so they will almost never notice that you havent played a single hand in 3 rotations and still call your pf raise with K10.
My advice is to really only play strong hands in the first while. and when you get a strong hand play it hard. you'll either get a double or triple up out of it or bust out early to someone hitting there draw. When you get to the middle to late stage you have to loosen up a bit and play your position more than your hands... am i saying fold AK out of position... no not at all... just saying when your on the cut off and SB and BB have mid sized stacks. put in a decent raise and chances are you'll take it down. But to answer your question... in these tournaments the players arent really looking at what your doing or what your consistencies are. they are looking at there 2 cards and the cards on the board. hope this helps a little.... |

re: Big tournaments poker
I agree with pitter, unfortunately for the smaller buy ins most people just don't care about the money and will play anything. Whether it's a gutshot draw or an over card to the board, they will call you down to the river and not even hesitate. The best you can do is get all you money in with the best hand and hope it holds up.
