| re: Best x% of hands chart? poker One thing to note: if a player raises 10% of his hands and he is positionally aware he will not be raising with the 10% of hands listed above. I open fold a lot of those hands highlighted on that 10% chart when UTG, but I will raise with a lot of hands not selected on the chart when I'm on the button... |

| What Wes is saying is that the ranges shown are not the hands most players would actually select as a 35% distribution or whatever % it is. A realistic 10% UTG distribution is something like: {22+, AQo+, AJs+, 76s-98s, A3s-A5s} A 35% range would be more like: {22+, Ax, K2s+, Any two broadway, 54s+, 64s+, 74s+} When plugging 35% or 10% into pokerstove and looking at that range, it includes a lot more offsuit junky hands or dominated broadway hands that real opponents aren't going to have in their range too often, while leaving out the suited connectors and small pairs that players will include. |
