Best thing to do with small bankroll

Ok, so i'm a little hard up for cash right now, and so I've degraded to freerolls . I played one last night for 5 hours on Full Tilt and won $2 ha. Should I store it in my account and try to win more before I start the real money games? or should I use it in little games and see if I can build it up a bit?

You might as well sit at a .05/.10 tables and make .25. Once you do that I suggest playing 2.25 HU. Double your investment. Then go from there!

i'm not too familiar with full tilt, but if they have micro sit n go's i would suggest that would likely be your best route.

$2 on Tilt is nothing to work with; cash tables are 0.05/0.10 and SnG $1.25, except for special tournies that are $1.00.

I'd say take the money and see what happens at a cash table. It's not enough to do anything with and it could take a looong time to win enough freeroll money to buy a little flexibility. Odds are you'll lose it first table, but it isn't enough to worry about. imo.

Play a 1,25$ sng 9men and try to stay in the tourney! 3rd place gets 1,80$ and with that u have made a plus! If u think u are good at HU then play 2,20$ HU! Beat 2 guys and u got 8$ and so on!

Bankroll

Personally, I would hang on to the money and play freerolls again.
Patience works!!! I have built a small bankroll on almost every site I have that way.
Once you have enough to play a decent game and have a little left, Thats when you dbl up. The little left in the account lets you play more relaxed.
Good luck on your games and your bankroll, May you have plenty of both.

low limits suck on ftp as well as every other site cause there full of horrible players

id go to a cash table and try to double up
then buy in to a MTT and hit it big so you can get out of the bitch stakes at the bottom

Anyway, I am just curious as to how much your BR would need to be to try a say $10 MTT but still be able to play at a $10 NL table if the tournament does not go so well? I am trying not to play out of my limits, but would like to get into a few decent size tournaments.

imo i would put it all into the smallest blind NL cash game and find a spot to go all-in as the favorite pre-flop to double up. Do this a couple of times and all of a sudden you have some options.

Trying to grind with $2.00 is NO fun. I've done it for too long.

Either save up and deposit $50.00 to play the game(s) you want, play the whole $2.00 in one spot to double up, or play some more freerolls just for the pleasure of poker. Whatever you choose, remember it isn't life changing money, you'd spend more on a date in one night.

I'm by no means an expert but I'm doing the ferguson right now, started 11days ago and I'm playing every freeroll I can lay my hands on, and 9pls sng horse 1,25 $ buy-in. My current bankroll is 36$ and I will stay at the small tables until I reach 100$, then I'll try my luck on the 2$ sngs and 0,05/0,10 cashgames. I know this will take a lot of time, but I love poker and the cash I win is only a bonus for playing well. If I have a loosing streak (it will come sometime - I'm sure) 1,25$ won't hurt me that much either. I'll keep up playing freerolls too, mainly for fun.

MountainBoy is right, although most are inclined to let a few sheckles burn a quick hole in their pocket. I started earlier this year following the Fergy BR advice, and it has worked for me.

GL, let it build first, then work it.

I have had trouble trying to establish a bankroll from nothing on FT as they dont really have many micro options. I do agree that the $1 Ferguson tourny is a good way to go.

I suggest you to play more freeroll until you get decent bankroll. I know winning money from freeroll isn't easy, but you did it
once so you can win again.

I do believe that Ferguson's BM was pretty amazing and that to actually be successful at you have to have great discipline. I am basically doing the same thing right now becasue i lost my roll playing overall my head in ring games and then running dry and getting frustrated. But i ahve placed in a few freerolls but i think the best thing to do would be play freefolls but if you must result to playing ring games find the lowest stakes possible.

If you are a competent tourney player I would find a site where the tourneys have overlays and play them. Those are your best bargains in online poker for sure.

As far as cash games do not play unless you are 100% sure that you can control your emotions after a tough beat (spoken from experience ). If you can then play small limit stakes until you have beaten the game for at least 5-7 sessions in a row then try to move up. If you lose substantially repeat process. This doesn't mean that you win a tiny bit after being down all night, it means you double your buy in (or win just a little due to bad beats)

Once you progress in Limit I would recommend reading a book on NL and preparing yourself for the ride of your life as you enter that rollercoater world.

Just my thoughts. Either way I wish you the best.

keep playing freerolls-even 50 bucks is not that much as far as bankroll but alot of people begin like this-i would suggest stick to freerolls or deposit atleast 100 take a shot and see where it takes you-the_urge27

i won 2 bucks in a fulltilt freeroll and i decided to try my luck at the 1.25 9 person sng. unfortunately i busted out and im left with < 1.00.

i say try your luck at 9person sng or a .5/.10

or save it up and build br from more freerolls.

Take ur time

Play it slow and steady. Sit down at 5 cent table and be very careful. Always hit and run when u have a tiny bankroll. sat w 2 dollas and won 1 or 2 more dont be afraid to runaway. then ustill have 2 dollars and another one or 2 to keep building. Sounds easier than it is. Best advice: patience and perserverance. Good luck

On Full Tilt, the .05/.10 tables have a minimum sit down buyin of $5, so you will have to win a few more freerolls to get up to $5 so that wont work. If you are really interested in "chances" to make it grow, there is one tourney that has a buyin of $0.00+$0.10 (with a $0.50 rebuy/addon) and a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000. This will give you about 20 chances to build (if you dont rebuy). This tourney is daily at 17:35, but has astronomical players and you have to place in the top 10%. Also, instead of of playing $1.00 + $0.25 tourney, (which would only give you 1 entry) Full Tilt does offer $1 tourneys with no house fee's and that would give you at least 2 chances. Congrats on your freeroll win and gl with your bankroll build.

PLEASE HELP !!!!!!

i got a seriously problem, i play with Cash on most sites and can drag money off tables no problem, the thing so i can't help myself going onto the blackjack tables and wasting my hard earned money on them, i start off betting small and winning but as soon as i bet big the system rips me off. i really think its rigged. i love playing on Ultimtebet and PaddyPowerPoker but always seem to lose my money after a few days by just popping into blackjack for a few minutes. one day i won over $1100 on $2/$4 blinds on PPP in one day but then lost the lot in 30mins on blackjack. What can i do to stop myself wasting my money ??? i really need help with this.

keep playing freerolles, 2$ isnt really aBR to start playing cash games with or money tournaments..
in cash games youll proppably have to buy-in with most of your money and not all of it.

They have 9 player sitngos that are not too hard to place in the money with 3 winners. Just play patient and let the first couple knock themselves out.

I say store it and play more freerolls...that way you get more experience and then you can also practice playing TAG....cause ur sure gonna need to play tight against those donks...

If you have the patience...it should pay off when you do play for real money....after that your gonna need to get your betting skills and hand reading up...
