| Beginner stats Hi All, First post! I have been playing 10NL fullring cash games and have been having some problems. My stats look like: VPIP%-20.1; PFR%-10.4; 3Bet%- 4.3; WTSD%-28.6; W$SD%-18.2; Agg-4.17; Agg%-35 Are these stats appropriate for this game type? This is over 289 hands. What is really messed up is that I will have 4 people call my PFR, and I always get outdraw even if PF I am a favorite to win. I am sure for you guys that is everyday, but I am finding it really frustrating. Anyways, I am wonder where there are leaks in my game, and what resources I can use to find and fix them. Can you guys point me in the right direction? Thanks |

Your VPIP looks a little high, especially when coupled with the fact that you have a 2:1 VPIP:AF ratio. You need to be raising more, limping & calling less. Your aggression factor & aggression percentage looks a little bit high for this particular limit, so you're probably making a few raises where you'd be better off calling. But its not a big mistake. Your 3-bet percentage looks fine. However, optimal stats don't always yield optimal results. You need to be focusing on making perfect decisions, not trying to obtain perfect stats. While its true that most successful players have similar stats, it doesn't apply to everyone at every limit. Quote:

| VPIP%-20.1; PFR%-10.4 Too Loose Passive preflop. You want these two numbers closer together, and since it's FR, I'd say lower the VPIP and bump up the PFR. 3Bet%- 4.3; Good WTSD%-28.6; Too high W$SD%-18.2 Way low, a result of the high WTSD% Agg-4.17; Agg%-35 I like the AF, I don't use Agg%, but it seems on the higher side. Curious how your street by street aggression looks, but solid overall figure. I just saw the "289 hands" thing. You need way more hands before some stats actually mean something, still this is a start. Secondly, it's difficult to just look at numbers and say, k good, or uh-oh this is trouble. There's good aggression and bad aggression, stats don't always mean what they may appear to, and your numbers are going to change based on what kind of players are sitting at your table, as well as where those players are in relation to you. This is why a larger sample is necessary to more accurately decipher what's going on. The biggest number that jumps out as omg, is the WTSD and W$SD stats. Gotta pull that back, you're going to showdown a lot, and apparantly doing it with less than good hands, since you're only winning 18%. Ummm, right 289 hands, so actually that could be anything, like coolers, beats, all kinds of stuff. But if that number remained in the area it currently is over a larger sample, something's going on there. For now work on playing a few less hands preflop. You can do this by only playing speculative hands like SC's from late position, and try playing where you can only raise/fold preflop. That will help get you in a more correct mindsight of seizing initiative from the get go. Good luck |
