Analyze C9's Retarded Mistakes for Glittering Prizes
Usually when I end a session I go back over my hands that I've played, and try to figure out what I did wrong. Sometimes its blatantly obvious. So I figured I'd post a couple of hands that I played terribly as a quiz of sorts. Hopefully you'll learn from it by seeing me play like a retard, and hopefully the public humiliation will keep me from making these mistakes again.
I am "Hero" in all of the hands. Reads are posted in bold/italics at the top of the hand. Hand #1So why did I play theses hands so poorly? What were my mistakes in each hand? Note: Aforementioned "glittering prizes" may be totally fictional. Last edited by c9h13no3 : 19th August 2008 at 6:32 AM. Reason: I spell like a retard. |

1st hand: We are betting on the river when we are only going to be looked up by other jacks and full houses. Against 2 'loose fish' we probably should be checking the river to allow them to bluff/think they are value betting a king or an ace and flat call any bet with our straight
2nd hand: Play is standard up to river (well except for over pot bet on turn) but then a calling station has open shoved the river obviously screaming that they have your 2 pair crushed since a calling station doesn't shove without at least a set and 95% of the time a ten 3rd hand: We should be checking behind on turn then reevaluating river, as played we shouldnt be calling the crai 4th hand: would fold preflop oop, would check/call flop, would reevaluate size of bet on turn based on have very little implied odds. Don't mind the river shove tbh although it was probably called, its justifyable although probably not the best idea |
