against calling stations all in or no?

I had a guy at 4NL who was seeing the flop more than 4/5 of the time, once he limps or open min. raises (he loves to min raise), he never folds to a 3 bet.

So I had AJ suited on btn. He min. open raised. He would do this with ace rags so I popped him to 32. He calls 24. Everyone else folded.

Flop comes A63 with 2 clubs. He checks. I bet 4/5 pot. He calls. Turn comes a 4s. He checks again.

At this point, the pot's roughly $1.80. I have about $2.70 left. I ended up betting $1.50 and he called again.

A 4c hits on the river and he insta shoves. I have $1.20 left, so I ended up calling even though I felt he probably hit a flush. And he did... with K7 suited.

What should have been the course of action on the turn? That $1.50 bet pretty much committed me to the pot so that I end up making a losing call. Should I have just shoved knowing that he likely calls with an inferior ace or a draw?

Basically, this guy could have had ANY draw and he could have had any pair. He very well could have something like A6 but I felt comfortable enough that I was ahead on the flop and turn.

well since u know he's gona call most bets u make on the turn with that wet board, i'd say u had two choices...1) shove on the turn...this way he might fold, and if he doesnt then u lose the same amount on the river neway...or 2) bet between like .75 and .90..you know he'd call a bet that size, and he'd call a bet even bigger (like he did anyway) but this way at least ur not committed and u can get away when the flush hits...idk, just my 2 cents...personally, i would have shoved on the turn and if he calls he calls

At micros you will not make him fold on the turn if he sees a flush draw . But also most of the time you will win the pot. It happened that the one chasing flushes agains the odds to catch it. But it also happens that on the long run he will loose everything chasing flushes .

i think i agree i would have pushed on the turn or even bet a sizable bet after flop..gotta hate them calling stations..always get lucky..

at micros, very difficult to get people to fold flush draws.
even though it seems they always seem to hit, in the long run you should make a decent profit against them

That's why players should always bet the hell out of the hand to protect it at micros preflop and postflop. Isolate and value when you have it. Of course the fish will hit sometimes , sometimes a lot. But on the long run math is always right.

I really have trouble with the following situation, an example of which just happened.

I got a set of 66 on SB on a K64 flop with 2 diamonds. I bet, got one call. The turn is 3d which completes a potential flush. I bet again (about 70% pot), got called again. Then the river is a 3s which makes 4 cards to a flush. I now have nearly half my pot committed.

Is the right play here a check/call or bet/fold?

@ blueskies I'd say check it and see what he does, its just too risky judging from how he played it looked likely that he did have a flush. At least by checking if he raises you have a fair idea he has a really good hand and you can act accordingly. And if you check you don't commit a load more chips to the pot which he will possibly take if he raises. Just my two cents, but since I'm just starting out in poker take it with a pinch of salt

I hope that someone hit their flush and pays off my boat on river.

How much did you bet on the flop? To make this play profitable for you in the long term, you need to put the odds against him.

I made a mistake in posting it. I did not have a boat at the end. The river was 5s, not 3s.

I had a set of 6s on a board with 3 diamonds and 4 to a straight.
