| advice on pot odds the way i work out my odds in poker is(number of outs multiplyed by 2)i know that this is only a rough guide and im sure alot of people started out this way but i would now like to learn to calculate the odds more accurately without using an odds calculator.can anyone give advice on where to go or what books or articles dicuss this in an easy to understand way?or does anyone know any way kind of formula for working this out? |

| Here's a pretty clear and concise summary of your options: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poker_p...f_four_and_two It's just my opinion, but I would think that until you've got almost all of your other leaks plugged, it's probably a wasted effort to get more accurate than the rule of 2 & 4. Most people aren't inclined to do that much math in the middle of a hand when these approximations get you pretty close. Probably the easiest thing to do is to examine the charts, and then keep in mind that you have to "add a little extra" to your probability as the number of outs goes up. |
