aces right or wrong

Played last night in a big live tourney the blinds were 150-300, my stack is 18000 and I get dealt aces UTG. The UTG + 1 is the chip leader and has 22000 and is an aggresive player reraising players when he's in position. I raise 900 he reraises 2300 it gets folded round back to me. Now here's what I am thinking...how do I get him all in? a) I could flat call
check the flop and hope he shoves. B) reraise to 5000 maybe hope he calls and again check the flop he jams I call or C) shove the lot in after his initial reraise hope he's holding QQ or KK and he calls. So at the time we were both well stacked what's my best play to get all his chips in knowing the initial reraise says he's holding big. Thanks the sniper
One last point I found out this kid came third in a WSOP $2500 buy in tourney in June and won $300,000. This was after the above happened.

Don't know enough about him to say what the best option is but B is the correct option. It covers C well enough and you don't want to flat call with the flop still to come.

Um, I think just shoving all in would be the best decision to make.

A push all-in might be a bit overkill with the stacks sizes the way they are between you two. If you were closer to 8000-10000 it might be a better pushing spot. Calling might be okay some time just to mix up your play a little bit, but I think a small reraise would be a better choice there especially if you have been fairly active/aggressive before this hand. Hopefully he might come over you with a weaker ace if he was really aggressive.

Personally I would absolutely reraise here, probably double his raise, and hope he goes all-in. You don't want to give him the chance to miss his flop and not put anymore money in the pot.

Sometimes an allin here looks like an emotional mistake to your opponent. It can look like you are frustrated that he reraised and you just want to push him off the hand.

I raise just under 6000 as I think that size is most likely to induce a shove.

I am thinking he has KK or QQ here and I am pushing all in and he will call almost all of the time. Even if he folds you have a nice pot

I like re-raise 3x his raise, now he either goes all-in (which we love) or folds, either case is good for you.

There is no way you can flat call here so you can forget option A. Of raising or shoving, I like raising better, if you shove, I think you're pretty much folding out everything except maybe KK. I think KK you might be able to get it all in on the flop anyway so I'd probably raise to like 5500 or so and hope he thinks he still has some fold equity with a shove over the top of me.

I think AA being the strongest starting hand, id just go all in with it and hope just 1 or 2 call...if they all fold u pick up the blinds.

I like reraising here. You said he is aggressive and likes to come over the top of people if he has position on. I am thinking he is pretty strong due to being UTG+1 and UTG has already raised and he still has players left to act behind him. I think the reraise will either get him to come back over the top or flat call and you could get it all in on the flop. I would raise to 5000-6000. I think it makes post flop decisions easier for you.

Thanks for all the replies chaps. I actually shoved the lot in I thought he had QQ or KK and would get it in, he actually folded and told me later he had JJ. I know a lot of you said re-raise him and then check the flop and get it in then, that would prob' be the best play although my poker coach said there was nothing wrong with shoving as he has seen your ep raise and says he has better. Another player also said that the last thing you want is to get beat with aces. Try and get all your money in pre'. Although I still think I missed out on some value.

Barring a huge tell don't put people on single hands. Have you any evidence that he only 3-bets QQ+? Shoving here isn't bad I don't think as 4-betting UTG either way will look strong whether you go all in or not, I jsut think there is additional value to be had from not going all in and we jsut get it in on the flop anyway. I don't think it makes much difference whether you go all in pre or on the flop.
