Accepted % to use for Tourneys
Lets assume you have a $1K bankroll online
.What $ amount would you say is correct if you wish to play tourneys in one session. I would guess 5% ($50 based on $1k example). Too high? Too low? Just right? Assumption: you will play 2-3 times per week |

I would say 5% is as high as you want to go, but I think 2% is generally accepted. It also depends on what kind of player you are, do you cash 1/3 but lots of mincashes, 1/10 but go deep when you do...as to what kind of downswings are likely. You want your risk of ruin to be very low, but don't want to impede growth by being too much of BR nit.

re: Accepted % to use for Tourneys poker
if you cash in over 50% of the under 50$ buy in tourneys i would bump it up to maybe 60$ which gives you a little more room.make sure you are winning the lower limits and proving yourself in the 5$ tourneys though, before even going up to 10$ no matter what your bank roll is.
