Two PS Accounts from Joint Bank Account

A question for you guys... my wife and I share a joint bank account and we each want to open our own Pokerstars account. However, both would have to be tied to the same bank account that has both our names on it. Has anyone done this before? Will PS have a problem with this? I obviously don't want to risk getting either of our accounts closed.

I don't think that is a problem, however it never hurts to fire them off an email to make sure. They are pretty speedy with responses.

Send their customer support an email and let them know what's up. Shouldn't be a problem but it's better to address it with them beforehand.

Yeah, I sent them an email ahead of time just to make sure. I was just wondering if anyone here had actually done it before. Thanks guys.

My wife and I can't even play on FullTilt with separate bank accounts since we're on the same IP address. =/

Not sure what your internet situation is with your wife, but that could become a snag as well if PS is strict about it.

That is incorrect. If you notify FTP and abide by their rules (can't play at same table, chip dump, ect.) they will allow multiple people to have accounts in the same household.

Our illustrious mod Dakota-xx and her husband both play there as do several other forum members.

not sure why u both couldnt play on tilt as long as it wasnt same tourneys
when my grandson lived with me for a while he used his laptop and was able to play !

You can play, just not in the same stt, ring games, or mtt with less than 45(or something like that) players. These are blocked so it would be impossible to accidentally do it as well.
Contact them.

Well, we've tried to explain the situation to them and keep getting the same replies about it. The last time we brought it up, we were told that continued attempts to circumvent their multi-account rules would result in both accounts being closed, so we just dropped it. =(

This isn't a case where one of you has rakeback and the other doesn't, is it?

It is now, I got rakeback like a week ago. Yay.

Previously neither of us had it though. I guess maybe we just got bad CS reps or something. Now that people are telling me, "No, you can do that." it might be worth pressing the issue. Unless I've ruined it now with the rakeback thing.

You shouldn't have ruined anything by getting rb, I was just implying that some people's wives create accounts with rb after their husbands realize they can't get it. Thought maybe that was the issue you were running into.

I'd talk to FTP support again.

Both accounts were open for like...3 days. We made a point of not playing at the same tables, etc etc.

One day she can't get on and she gets an e-mail saying, "Your account has been closed per our user policy. You may only have one account at any time."

So we write and write and keep getting the answers I said above. =(

The husband usually quits poker after his wife gets a RB account, but the wife usually continues, which is handy because she usually plays at the same time the husband used to so that might have caused some issues over who gets to use the computer.

Each open a bank account for poker?

Are they not free?

Do they not usually take only 20 mins to open?

Would this not save you a lot of hassle?

Seriously, why do I see this as the blindingly obvious answer but noone else has mentioned it?

I'd rather not open a whole new bank account just for poker. Either way, PS replied and said that they would prefer 2 accounts not be tied to the same bank account and recommended that I use the account for one and make p2p transfers to the wife's account.

That could be a slight pain, but easy enough to do, does echeck still work there after June 1st?
