problem making deposit at pokerstars

I am a U.S. player and i have not been able to make a deposit with my credit card at Poker Stars. I know U.S. players have a more difficult time making deposits now, but i am using the same credit cards I use on Bodog with no trouble. Anyone have any suggestions. I really don't want to have to go out and get a money gram.

I just called up PS support and they let me deposit with my credit card.

burton boy are u from the U.S.? Did u have to call them in order to get them to take it? What kind of credit card did u use? I heard most of the poker sites list the purchase with a company name that does'nt sound like it's a gambling site. I have no problem using my visa at bodog

Actually the name of the company has nothing to do with it. The purchase is blocked based on the merchant code used. Most sites will not take a chance on using the wrong merchant code because they risk fines by Visa Int'l.

I am from US live in Colorado. Ya I called them and told them that other sites like Ultimatebet let me use it before. Then the customer service rep did some typing away at her computer and told me to try again. I did, and it worked. Although to be fair I suppose I should tell you I was using a bank card with a Visa logo, not an actually credit card. I think it's called a Credit/Debit card.

If all else fails, try All-Access Visa gift cards. Go to :

Type in your zip code and it will give you a list of local merchants that carry them. Also make sure you get the NON-reloadable card.

I couldn't deposit on PokerStars with either my Visa nor my Mastercard gift card, but when I tried with Full-Tilt I had no problem depositing with the Visa.

So, my advice would just be to try a different site.
