PHONE CALL FROM UB

About 2 weeks ago, I made a check withdrawal request from UB (kept it under $1,000). Received the check which was issued by a US Corp.(LLC) drawn from a US bank. The phone call came the same day I received the check.

The caller said he was making a courtesy call to be certain I received the check, and asked if I was cashing or depositing the check. I, of course was depositing to allow plenty of time for the check to clear. He also suggested that in the event the bank would question the check, I could state that it was a credit for on online purchase.

I have absolutely no reason to question the authenticity of this phone call. I wanted to share this information, and was curious to hear if any members here have had a similar experience? Thanks

That's weird.

I guess they are preparing for the end of the UIGEA (sp?)

But as long as you get your money, then that's the main thing.

UB must have had other checks refused on the basis of their source. Smaller banks might be getting paranoid. Larger banks probably care less. UB was just covering their ass with the phone call, imo.
