Information regarding eCheck removal & Bounced Checks

I am gathering a bunch of sources together and actually getting comments regarding the recent shutdown of "eChecks" as well as the bounced checks from various poker sites. I've had a couple of sites tell me I can expect quotes and I'll be putting them together in a story which i will be sure to link here.

Cliff notes of rumors (looking like truth now):

- US Government shut down eChecks & seized money
- US Government closed bank accounts of payment processors
- Sites scrambling to get eChecks back up (Cereus network already back up for this feature)
- Waiting for statements as the legal departments for the sites get themselves ready

ya i tried to make a payment w/ e-checks today and they said not at this time. i e-mailed FT and requested a response ASAP, lol. they're probably swamped with e-mails.
i haven't tried yet but can we use credit cards in the US. it says to use a visa, but i know how that goes. and the gift cards i bought never worked either.
i knew if i logged in i would find some info on this matter. thanks icemonkey. and keep us posted. peace

Damn it! eChecks was my method of choice at Stars. So easy to deposit/withdraw with it. I'll be watching this thread for updates!

Paumarhas, most sites you can't use credit cards, but there are a few: Bodog and Sportsbook to name a couple.

Guys this is getting creepier and creepier the deeper I get in. I actually got a quote from Bodog's CEO as well as a source at Cake Poker, and they all say business is usual over there and everything is fine.

The comment (or rather NON comment) I got from Stars has me seriously concerned about their present state. I can't even type what I think might be happening there.

Anyways, I actually was able to deposit using a VISA card at Cereus after I called my card company and asked them to unlock "international internet orders" ... of course I just monitor the hell out of charges to the card to make sure it's safe but so far so good.
