Help Pokerstars Deposit from US (Best method)
I'm looking to deposit some $$ to pokerstars (first time playing with real $$). I've been winning consistently in the play money high stakes and have done well on a few freerolls, but haven't had a chance to place in the money on any of the real $$ freerolls yet, but I've been close.
What have people used successfully to get $$ deposited to pokerstars? |

How can u sell play chips for real money? I've never heard of that. Dbruns you had no trouble using echecks on pokerstars and you live in the U.S., am I right? I was just going to try making a deposit with echeck on pokerstars and i live in the U.S. also. Did they tell you how to make a withdrawl. I read on the echeck info section on pokerstars that withdrawls were only for canada res. Did I read that wrong? How are you supposed withdraw?

re: Help Pokerstars Deposit from US (Best method)
PokerStars accepts Visa and MasterCard check cards, though sometimes your bank may block them. You can also purchase and All-Access Visa card. Do a search in this forum and you can find information on those.
I've used an eCheck to deposit. It worked well. I had the money right away. (I only made the deposit to get a 100% match bonus they had 6 months ago) As for cashing out in the U.S., they send via check. I've always had my check within a week of requesting it. It's mailed from a bank in CA. As for selling play chips for real money, people here claim to have done it. I think they get $10 per $1 million inchips, and $110 or $120 for a $10 million chip lump sum. This is *not* endorsed by CC or PokerStars. You're basically trusting someone with a huge sum of your play money chips. You give it to them, and they deposit to your account. But you have no legal recourse if they take your chips and run. Again, a search in this forum or on Google will list some sites that offer this service. But use them at your own risk. Last edited by SavagePenguin : 14th September 2008 at 11:25 PM. |

I tried to use my visa at pokerstars,(the same one that I use at U.B. and bodog) but it was refused. I know it was the bank refusing pokerstars. They really need to to have the site appear like a merchant and not a poker site. I'm sure that's the only reason my visa goes thru on bodog and U.B. When you requested a withdrawl at pokerstars did they ask you for alot more personal info. Bodog did that to me and I never did get my money out because I did'nt feel comfortable giving out any more info than I already had. How long did it take to get a check from pokerstars after you requested it after using the echeck deposit method? Thanks for any help you can provide.

all-access visa cards are your best bet in my opinion. www.allaccessgift.com is the site i had used for my card.. i dont know if they offer a store locator or not, but i buy mine at giant foods... probably not familiar with that store unless you are living in the northeast usa

The checks take 6 days from when I request it. Now, after you make an eCheck deposit they don't get the money right away, but they *do* put that much in your account. You can't cash it out until the eCheck clears, which I think is about 10 days. But as far as requesting a check, it's always taken 6 days. I did ask for an eCheck payment back when their eCheck provider was having deposit issues. Their provider held the payments up for two weeks and never did make the deposit. PokerStars gave me a 20% of my deposit request (directly into my PS account) as an apology even though it was their provider's fault. Then they sent me a check for the full amount I requested, even though those funds were still tired up with their provider. But other than that, it's always been 6 days. It's probably less for people who don't live in the middle of nowhere, like I do. |

Thanks for all the info. I may try echeck at pokerstars. Anyone know if they are offering any deposit bonuses. I signed up at pokerstars a couple years ago but, I don't remember if I ever made a deposit. I might have but, if I did I don't remember and i'm sure it was only once if at all. Does anyone know how I can check that far back to see if I made a deposit and how I did it?

I am sorry your deposit is not being easy, I hope this will help you get your deposit through. Pre-paid cards have become a popular option for many players at PokerStars. At present, there are a limited number of pre-paid cards that are working for deposits. If you use any of these options to make a deposit at PokerStars you will be able to withdraw funds through a Cashier's Check which will be sent according to your instructions. You can buy "All Access" pre-paid cards at many local stores or gas stations. Please visit https://www.netspend.com/account/index.m to obtain a list of locations near you where you can buy either a gift card or a re-loadable card. The "All Access" re-loadable cards charge up to $1.00 for purchases made with it. When depositing with a re-loadable card, please try for $1.00 less, to account for this charge. There is no charge for purchases made with the gift cards, but they have some fees you may need to consider for balances remaining, phone enquiries and others. To find out more about their fees please visit: https://www.allaccessgift.com/gift/faq.m Please keep in mind that in order to use these cards for online purchases they require activation, which can be done by calling the number on the back of the card or online at https://www.netspend.com/account/activation.m. It will take around 30 minutes for the card to become active. **Note: Please keep in mind that the effectiveness of this gift card may alter due to changing bank policies against online gaming transactions. Thank you for your patience and loyalty to PokerStars. For further deposit related assistance, please send your phone number and an appropriate time to call, to dad@pokerstars.com Regards, Luis GH PokerStars Deposit Assistance Department |

re: Help Pokerstars Deposit from US (Best method)

I just went thru that, they just want to verify you I think. The only problem with the echeck is you cannot transfer funds till the check clears which can take up to 10 days. You can though take the money to the tables immediately. I really don't think you have anything to worry about.
Hell I'd give em my son if they wanted, lol |

So there is no way to use echeck without giving out your ssn#? I'm really not comfortable doing that. I wonder if you give them a fake ssn# would they really know. I't's not like they are going to give me back my deposit unless my bank lets them deposit it first. Is there any way to call pokerstars or is it all e-mail support. So far I'm not seeing why so many people like this site. I have no problem using my visa card on bodog or U.B. but not pokerstars.

Does'nt it bother anyone else to give out your SSN# to an online poker site? There must be some other way to make a deposit on pokerstars using echeck without giving out personal info that is so important. Pokerstars won't even give out their phone #. Seems alittle one sided to me. Please don't answer me back if your response is "So just don't play there". I am looking for helpful info if anyone has any. So please if you want to scould me , please don't. I don't mean the majority of you but, there are a few of you that always answer that way. I would really like to play on pokerstars to see why so many people seem to think it's the best. Thanks for any help Good Luck All

re: Help Pokerstars Deposit from US (Best method)
That was great advice. So lets just list it on everything we do. You deserve to have someone use your information if you think like that. Why is it I can never get any real help on questions I really need help on. So I will ask again is there any way to use echeck without giving out your SSN#? Has any U.S. player been able to use your visa credit card at pokerstars and is there any way to contact them by phone?

As has been mentioned a number of times, the all-access visa cards fron netspend.com work just fine, both the prepaid and the reloadable.
If you are not comfortable giving them your SSN then that seems to be your only option. Withdrawal can be made use paper checks and snail mail.. |

I know about those but, I did'nt want to have to go buy one and then have a hassle with something going wrong with it. It was so much easier when congress did'nt stick it's nose in our business . Why is it republican don't want to put regulations on big business but have no problem trying to regulate our private lives

I guess I missed the point. Your post said you wanted help depositing at Poker Stars.
You have been presented with two viable options, E-checks and all-acces visa, neither of which are satifactory to you. Instead you respond with an anti republican political rant which, though i agree with you, is totaly irrelevant to the subject at hand. I'm sorry we couldn't have been of more help. Maybe next time . |

I guess u did miss the point. If u don't see how the 2 are related I don't believe u ever will. I just want to know is there any way to use echeck without giving out your ssn#. I'm amazed how that's not a big deal to anyone else to do that. I don't give that out unless it is absolutely necessary, and that does not include an online money site to play poker. I don't see why they would need it and I don't think they really do. I don't wish to get into an arguement with anyone on here just looking for some help on getting a deposit made thru echeck without giving out my ssn#. I would call pokerstars for some help, but they don't even give out their phone # and I'm suppose to give my ssn#.

The reason they want your SSN is to verify your identity. If not, anyone could use your name and bank account #, which is printed on every check you ever sent to anyone, to open an account at Popker Stars and drain your account.
It is a security measure to safe guard your account. |
