That was the problem. Went to the web site to check and there was a 9.95 fee deducted.

Oh yeah the first time they charge you $10. You didnt sign up for that protection fee thing did you? You only pay the $10 once...

The All Access Reloadable Visa's work just fine on PokerStars as of this post!

Yes, they could work and maybe they are better now, but historically we've seen instances where the reloadable cards don't work and the non-reloadable ones do. If the reloadable cards work for you, then by all means use them. But be aware that the fees associated with the reloadable card dwarf the one-time $4.95 fee for the non-reloadable card. And, the non-reloadable allaccessgift cards are handed to you immediately, the reloadable ones have to be shipped to you and require ID at the time of purchase vs simply registering them online. For the cost and additional hassle, I'll use the non-reloadable card if I ever have a need to deposit.

Alot of this isnt even true. First look at 2+2, the reloadable ones work fine, if you get the right one and take the dollar fee off.
Second, $4.95 doesnt really dwarf $9.95, especially if you ever plan to use it again (for anything, poker related or not - I use mine to buy things online when I dont want to give personal info). If you only load once then I guess you could save 5 bucks, but if you ever load twice (reload bonus), then you pay more even after only the second use.
You can buy the reloadable ones right at the store, right next to the other ones. You load them on the spot without showing id. You register them online, the same as the non-reloadable one.
There really isnt any additional cost or hassle.
I think that alot of people are mislead and then repeat these types of posts.

The facts are that the reloadable one has a onetime fee of $9.95. The throw away ones have a fee of $4.95.
You buy them at the same place and dont show id. The process to buy them and register them is the same.
There really isnt any more cost, if you use them more than once it is cheaper to use reloadable one. Really no extra hassle either...

Considering most folks looking here are primarily worried about how to actually deposit money to their pokersite not how to manage their lives around a debit card you have to buy, the cards will be one time use in most cases anyway.

I guess this is the real difference. I would NEVER use a card like this for anything but poker site deposit. Anyone that qualifies for a credit card shouldn't either. The security argument isn't really a very strong argument either...it's akin to being in a plane crash...sure bad things happen but it's not nearly as sensational as the media makes it up to be. And I've had fraudulent charges made before and it has not cost me a single penny out of pocket. Back on topic...The usage fees are ridiculous simply for making a purchase EVERY TIME with the reloadable card. But again, since I pay off my credit cards every month, I'm not feeding into the interest payments either. Guess that's just my opinion and money mgmt plan.

LOL...So below are the imaginary fees associated with the reloadable card. Note: for simplicity, I've deleted the 11 other potential charges that are less likely or less important (like the $.50 fee for checking your balance at ATMs or the $5.95 per month fee if you don't use the card for 3 months)
All Access Visa Reloadable Card Fees
Signature Purchase Convenience Fee - $1.00
PIN Purchase Convenience Fee - $2.00
Card Fulfillment (Shipping & Handling) - $9.95
ATM Withdrawl - up to $2.00 + ATM fee

So, using your example of buying other things with these cards, not just depositing online: (RL=Reloadable Card, NRL=Non-Reloadable Card)
Activity.......Amount....RL Bal....RL Fee.......NRL Bal.....NRL Fee
Buy Card.......$250.......$250.......$9.95.......$250........$4.95
Poker Room....$100.......$149......$1.00........$150........$0.00
Gas..............$50.........$98........$1.00........$100........$0.00
Lunch...........$15.........$82........$1.00........$85.........$0.00
Groceries.......$55.........$26........$1.00........$30.........$0.00
Amazon.com..$24.........$0..........$2.00.........$6.........$0.00
Two beers+tip.$6.........CAN'T DO IT.............$0..........$0.00
TOTAL COST...........................$15.95......................$4.95

So while I wouldn't suggest anyone actually base life around either card, I'd say using the reloadable card is 3.1x as much as the non-reloadable in total cost and infinitely more in per transaction usage fees (plus you can get two beers at the end which is always a plus ) But that's just me.

Specifically speaking to the All Access Visa/Gift Cards...Not around here you can't; at least not in the five places I checked when I first looked into them around here. The non-reloadable cards are available right at the counter, but to buy a reloadable card required ID (because the card is actually shipped to you). If you can buy an All Access Visa Card at a counter by you, then have at it. But be aware that that is NOT the case everywhere.

Anyone know if it's possible to cash out with the reloadable ones? And if so, for more than the initial amount put on the card?

I use the card to buy stuff off of the net instead of using my credit card or my banking info. Your talk about paying off a credit card each month doesnt really matter, since I put a few hundred on the prepaid debit card once in awhile and never get any fees.

I like your chart about fees, but honestly again doesnt really matter. I am not using the card for anything except occasional internet usage and when I deposited a few months back.

I am not certain about stores in your area, but every store (every single one) near me that sells the gift cards also sells the reloadable ones. I assumed that all of them would sell both. Also I didnt show any id, I paid for the card and they loaded it. Simple as that...
Also I find that hard to believe, since you can go to the website, fill in your info and they will mail you a card with your name on it. Even the one that I got that way I didnt give them my id...

Again to anyone reading this, it pretty much as simple as if you are only going to use it once, you will save $5 by buying the gift card. If you are planning on using it more than once, even only using it twice, will save you $ by getting the reloadable one.

You can cash out up to the max that you can put on the card. I think it is 500 dollars each time (which would be once a day).

Close, but there is no $1.00 per use fee on the non-reloadable card.

So it wouldn't be until the third use where you actually come out slightly ahead. $4.95*3=$14.85 vs $9.95+1.00*3=$12.95 (net savings $1.90). If someone loads up $250 three times, then they have a lot more to worry about than $1.90 difference.

I guess the bottom line comes down to skill. If you don't have to keep depositing to play, then the non-reloadable card is better and we have a long history of posting that it works. If you have to keep depositing to fund your hobby, then the reloadable card may be the the better option now that there is recent evidence that they are working regularly.

Like anything in poker, there apparently are no absolutes. Neither card is always a better choice, but they both do work.

There is the $1 fee on both cards according to the site. Regardless, your thoughts are pretty much what I have said repeatedly "Neither card is always a better choice, but they both do work."
I have used the card twice to deposit onto Stars - not because I went busto but because I loaded the first time obv, then because I wanted to get into the reload bonus for BAP.
There are reasons for wanting to deposit more than once other than not playing very well.

Since pokerstars and full tilt charge a one dollar deposit fee...how am I supposed to clear my bonuses on pokersourceonline.com which says that I have a minimum deposit of $50? Are there other sites, which don't have this fee?

I've been trying to find the card, but can't find it for the life of me. Not sure if it even exists here in Los Angeles. CVS/RiteAid only has the Green Dot varieties, and the cash advance place I went into only had the reloadable All-Access version.

Warning! It appears as though the All Access Visa Cards are no longer being accepted. I tried one today too and it was declined. If I would have know this, I wouldn't have cashed out a couple weeks ago.

I guess no more online poker for me. I got a $100 gift card that I will have to spend somewhere else.

Hope it works

I am also from Michigan USA. Haven't tried it recently, but the All Access card worked for me on FullTilt.

It's funny. Every site is different. My regular VISA works on Bodog, Ultimatebet and Carbon. It didn't work on FT, but All Access does. My VISA didn't work on Pokerstars so I called them and asked them what would work. We did an eCheck direct transfer right from my bank account and that worked fine. I hope you find something that works.

Another option is to get a friend on the site to transfer you funds. Where are you trying to deposit?

I tried $100 several times last night. There are no fees involved so the full value of the card can be used.

I tried again this morning and it went through just fine.

Through time it appears the old adage 'If at first you don't succeed, try try again" is at work here. Sometimes when you buy these at the store, it might take a while to actually get entered into the computer. Check the online verification/activation procedure.

I got mine in Long Beach, Ca at a Von's. Right above the candy or the magazines at the check-out stand. Next to the Blockbuster, feed the homeless, etc cards at eye level for a tall guy.

For an update, a nonreloadable Visa All-Access worked for me on PokerStars this afternoon, the first time I tried one.

From looking up a location, driving 10 blocks, dealing with the gas station attendants trying to figure out how to sell it to me, coming back, activating the card and going to PokerStars, the whole thing still took less than 30 minutes.

Finally found the card at a Vons in Burbank, CA. I had been looking at the displays next to each cashier (above where they always sell tabloids and candy), until the manager told me they those were just a small sample of what they had, and that they had an entire gift card section in aisle #2. I went over there, and lo and behold, the All-Access Visa cards were all the way at the bottom-right of the gift card section. Bought a bunch, got home, activated them online, and just successfully deposited one of the cards with no issues whatsoever.

Last week I sent an email to PokerStars support on this issue. They confirmed that the All Access reloadable card indeed works, at least for now. As far as cashing out is concerned, here was their response:
It is a great deposit option, however cash outs are not available on any US cards.
That doesn't exactly sound like an answer to my question because, if it was a US card, I probably couldn't make a cash deposit in the first place.

Anyway, that's the official word so interpret it any way you wish. I'll have my card this week and may take a shot at a withdrawal someday soon. If I do, I'll let you know how I make out.

I sure do miss my Neteller account with my Neteller debit card.

I am looking at making my first deposit on Pokerstars as well. Will the VISA gift cards work? I'm not talking about the Green Dot or NetSpend cards, but the ones from visa.com.

Also, I'm sorry if this question has been asked a million times but with US laws and the accept/decline outcome changing daily, I'm a bit reluctant to go buy one without knowing beforehand.
