Can anyone please explain chip dumping. Is this something that is done between pokerrooms to get money out. Is it legal? Or more accurate against the poker room rules?

Cant be exact but considering its "chip" dumping, i dont believe it would be something that involved two or more different sites. Its something likely where a player would attempt handling his chips to another player in regrards to helping their chances in a tournament, sort of a friendly gesture. I dont the the legality of that issue but doesnt seem to be something that is right.

Totally illegal in all poker rooms I know of. It is more the handing of chips between two players.
You can get your account closed for it.

Chip dumping would be if you and I were in the same tournament and I purposely lost chips to you to help you out. (Or vice versa)
It give the player an unfair advantage.

re: chip dumping poker

What if, say on a cake network site, I wanted to move my own chips to another cake network site to another on of my accounts. For example, set up a tourney on playersonly and register for it, then, register for the same tourney from a different computer from cakepoker? Then move the chips by playing heads up from one account to another, both my accounts. Would that be against the rules?

Yes. That is chip dumping.

If they catch you doing that they can bust you. That is viewed as suspicious activity and will set off bells and whistles as they look for that sort of behavior.
I know there's little harm in it (you're even losing $ to the rake), but they don't allow the behavior because it's a common way for cheats and multi-accounters to disperse their ill-won gains.

The legal way to get around it is to transfer money to a trusted friend on the one site, and have him transfer you his own money from the other site. But you run the risk of the friend running off with your money with no legal recourse, as the site will consider a legal transaction when you give him chips and has no obligations to enforce your side deal.

I think it happens more than most would think, i have seen it in low level tournys and freerolls. People who are from the same country going all in and one has AAorKK and the other calls with 32, seen that many diffrent times in freerolls. Mostly were there are a low number of players so the chances of someone u know are at the same table. It can't be proven most of the time but it dows happen.

If and when you can get caught they will confiscate all your money

also from what u said b4 it sounds like you wont to open up a new account as well all sites dont allow you to open up more then one account so it could involve u getting banned as well

No,, I don't want to open a new account.

I want to get my money off one site, on to another so I can withdraw it. I am having a terrible time trying to make a legitimate withdrawal. I have been trying to get money out since 7/23. The money was removed from my account, but not put into my ewallet account. I'm tring to get to rest of the money out and into a poker room that it isn't so difficult to get what is mine.

I don't want to do anything that could be deemed as suspect, I only want to get out of a particular pokerroom. We are talking about $150 I have there. Any suggestions would be appreciated

You might be better to just be upfront and contact support and tell them what you want to do, and maybe they could transfer it (if on the same network).

That's exactly the type of thing if you try it, that will get your money confiscated if they find out. Find another way.

Yes, that is the most obvious (and illegal) case of chip dumping. But it could be done a lot more subtly than what you describe here. Like I said, they may not even bother to CARE about policing it on playchips, but don't ever try it with real money!!!

This would not work because you cannot log into two sites on the same network from the same computer. Previous answers about it being illegal are also true, I am just addressing the mechanics of the idea

DONT DO IT!

It falls under the rules of collusion and you and whomever you are dealing with will be BAN... not suspended... BAN for life from that poker site...

Think twice before you make a long term impact.

My two cents,
Moe
