re: Banks not accepting checks poker Here is an excerpt from the Forbes article. I know this is a serious issue for U.S. players, but I am cracking up here. Can anybody spot the funniest name ever? The Justice Department is also using three older laws, most importantly the Wire Act, to go after online poker operators. The most significant precedent: In December 2008 Anurag Dikshit, an Indian-born founder of PartyGaming, pleaded guilty to violating the Wire Act for helping direct PartyGaming's online U.S. poker operations. Dikshit, who had reached out to the feds, agreed to pay $300 million and faces up to two years in jail when he is sentenced in December 2010. His fellow cofounders, including Americans Ruth Parasol DeLeon and Russell DeLeon, who, like Dikshit, live overseas, have neither settled nor been charged. Pronounced "and your a dick shit"....LMAO

Anurag Dikshit, u have got to be joking..... I am torn between believing you, as in you cant make that up, but it is a hard one to...lol....swallow. But on a serious note, this kind of action only applies to US players in the US?? I am a US citizen, living in Germany, using German banks, paying German taxes - YUK lol - so I am far from being involved with this am I not?? Does anyone know about this, and is any other country affected by similar laws???

There is absolutely NOTHING in the UIGEA that will stop you from being able to cash a check. The UIGEA stops BANKS from dealing with poker rooms. So the gov't can confiscate funds from check processors (the banks the checks are drawn from) if they can catch them, but if you get a check your bank will cash it. If your bank refuses, get a new bank. Poker players need to be knowledgeable about the laws so we can stop spreading false rumors, like this one.

Banks not accepting checks Maybe one day I will cash my entire bankroll, all 99 cents. I hope the bank will cash and it does not bounce. P.S. knowing my luck the IRS would make an example of me and prosecute to the full extent of some little known law. Last edited by AUPhoenix : 14th February 2010 at 8:51 PM. Reason: add a comment
