Video analysis of Ninelions' 10nl session
NL 3-tabled a 10nl session, asked me to analyze it for him and I obliged. I ran through each table individually through pokertracker's replay feature, so some reads may be lost along the way.

eaarly in the vid you said you didn't know how much respect a 2/3 pot bet gets at these stakes (the pot was .30 at the time). I may have misconstrued what you said, but yeah.
I prolly should've mentioned that when I made the comment, ha. |

Chuck; are you saying that, given two players that play exactly the same preflop and postflop, one 30/10 and ond 20/10, that the looser player will have a lower total aggression just because he's playing more hands?

I wish I could show you a mathematical proof for that, but tbh it's just something I've picked up from several resources.
Put generally it just means someone with a 30vpip and 2 AF will be MUCH more aggressive postflop than someone with a 20vpip and 2 AF. |

TT, river bet, I was reading this guy as someone that was targetting me, after sucking out on him with my PF raise early on. The river bet was not so much based on cards but just aggression taking a guess that he had nothing.
Which is also the reason for the limps of the 99s and not leading the OESD when he was in the hand. I guess if I'm not going to play my game because of a particular player, I should leave the table. And you're probably right in assuming these plays are just based on his playing style rather than directly targetting me. I think I read too much into personal-ness into this, even while multitabling. |

Stacks: - MP3 with $9.85 - CO with $9.45 - BTN with $6.75 - SB with $7.65 - BB with $7.30 - UTG with $11.15 - UTG+1 with $12.00 - MP1 with $9.00 - MP2 with $13.20
Blinds: $0.00/$0.00 Site: Pokerstars - Dealt to MP1:6♥ 6♣ - Sklansky group 6 Preflop: - 2 players fold. - Hero calls [$0.10] - MP2 calls [$0.10] - 1 players fold. - CO raises $0.30 to $0.40 - 2 players fold. - BB calls [$0.30] - Hero calls [$0.30] - MP2 calls [$0.30] - Total folds this street: 5 - Potsize: $1.65 Flop: - 7♥ 10♣ 6♠ - BB: checks - Hero bets [$1] - MP2 raises $1 to $2 - CO calls [$2] - 1 players fold. - Hero raises all-in I've been thinking about this hand. I really wanted to get MP2 into this hand. He's shoved his stack twice at small pots, once when I checkraised and once when he minraised preflop. I read him as a person with problems with aggression which is part of the reason why I led the flop (besides being a general good play). I was hoping that he would get aggressive but he only minraised. But I think I misread him. Rather than having an aggression problem, I think he's just a bully, meaning he'll shove against aggression, but only when he thinks he can bully people out of the pot. By shoving into him, he can no longer bully so he can fold. I get called by KK in the CO so I get a nice pot anyways, but I'm wondering if I could have gotten MP2 to shove the turn by calling the flop and checking the turn, allowing him to play the bully role. I suppose I risk letting an OESD fill doing so though. Thoughts? |

It's definitely possible, but not very probable, and it's much more risky.
Basically you also run the risk of scare cards killing the action, which is no good. Bet-shoving that spot is fine - much better than check-raising the CO and pushing MP1 out of the hand (with no dead money committed), nevermind giving the CO a chance to fold his overpair (which is pretty unlikely though). I wouldn't worry about losing the fish in the middle there. |

Good point. I always forget about scare cards for other people when I have a big hand. Plus, after more thinking, he had his chance to shove over my flop bet once, and on the turn the pot is too big for him to bully in the same manner as before so there's a good chance he's done. Thank Chuck. And I'm sure I'm not the only one who downloaded it and got some value out of this. I think the PokerTracker idea was brilliant as it allows you do focus on hands worthy of talking about. |

No problem! Glad it helped, and again I'm willing to do this for most anyone too as long as I'm not too busy and as long as you think it'll actually be of some use. |
