New with a video

Hi guys,

New to this site but seems a great place to be. Finding this forum is perfect timing for me - I've been making a video or two for some mates but would also like to get some feedback from some other poker players out there. BTW - the sticky post on making videos was really helpful - much appreciated.

I make videos looking at decisions a lot more in depth than just commentary while playing, which I think can teach some poker concepts in a better way. Each hand tends to focus on just one hand, but talks about a lot of concepts which can be helpful in a lot of different situations.

So in my first post, I present a video for you all:

Hi BigHef, and thanks for the quality video.

On to the hand, I think you pretty much analyzed it perfectly. You do however say that your bet on the turn is 'designed to fold out hands like JT', which is incorrect - the bet is designed to charge hands like JT. We want those hands to call since we're making money long-term when they do (if we set a bad price for them). It may have just been a slip of the tongue, but I'm a nitpicker

I really like the analysis though and the way the hand played out. By the river we're basically representing AK/AA or even AJh/AQh ourselves, and he might go ahead and either turn a smaller two pair into a bluff, or might value bet a rivered two pair (KQ, QJ etc). Betting the river doesn't have much value as we're basically representing the straight or at worst a marginally played set that doesn't want to take their foot off the gas pedal, so basically he won't call with any two-pair hands.

About the video: we usually do the videos a little differently here, but I really like the teaching style you used, explaining your thought process street by street. I'm half asleep and rambling a bit now (am probably making no sense atm...), but just want to say I enjoyed the well made video and I hope to see you stick around and contribute more

I really liked that video, you had a really good analysis of the hand and honestly checking the river didn't even really cross my mind but you made some good points.

I'd definitely like to see some more videos from you, one of you doing an entire session would be pretty awesome. Check out this tutorial for video compression if you haven't already, it works really well for longer videos.

Hi Chuck, thanks for the great feedback.

You are definitely right with what you said - I realised that as soon as I said it, so tried to emphasise that if they do call we'll make a ton of value from their call. After doing a few takes I think I decided just to finish and get something out there and get some feedback.

SeanyJ - thanks also for your feedback. As for doing a whole session - I'll see what I can do - I realise it helps with metagame but there's a ton of similar videos out there so I was looking to do things different. I'll aslo have a look at that compression tutorial, will be very handy.

enjoyed the detail you went into on the hand.
I have only taken to the cash tables recently,
I usually play sngs so this was helpful.

I would like to see a few more hands with different concepts.

This hand was a great example of value betting and inducing a bluff!

It makes a good change from watching a whole session to see only a few intersting hands!
