Irexes video - 1st hour of MTT

My first video

Apologies for the fact that it starts with a test and the camera moves around a bit, was getting the hang of the software...

.. but this is the first hour of an MTT on Party. Not a lot happened from my point of view but it may be of interest for that reason. In the end I came 39th, doubling up in the second hour but never really getting a big stack.

Hope it's of interest I plan to do more regardless

It's on google videos so the quality is also not good. I'll make it smaller for Youtubing next time.

Edit: Here's a rapidshare download which should be crystal clear

PartyParty Poker is probably the best known online poker room. Use the Party Poker bonus code CC150 for a 30% upto $150 deposit bonus.

PokerStarsPokerStars is one of the best poker sites on the internet. They accept US players and using PokerStars marketing code CARDSCHAT you get a $75 bonus.

Whoo hoo, thanks Rex.

The video quality is pretty poor from Google; can't read the HUD stats at all so I'm using a plug in to download it. Often they look better downloaded and viewed in a stand alone program.

zzzz... wow you are such a card rack.

playing very well obv first hour for the hands you've gotten and I like your reads. very good analysis of hands not played and observations regarding other players. Very helpful video overall although would be nice to see you get to play some hands (I'm sure you agree!).

Thanks chaps,

Any suggestions about where I could upload it that would be better quality?

Planning to do some more (next Final Table hopefully) and hopefully I'll get some cards to play. But given the game is as much about folding and winning when card dead this one's hopefully not a complete wash

Megaupload or rapidshare would mean no streaming, but rather direct download, but it would be much better video quality.

Seriously enjoyable vid though. I can hear your kids giggling in the background as you tell them hush or you'll steal their toys

I thought the quality on Google was adequate but the MegaUpload Taylor has used is better. When will part 2 be available?

I like to see the calls in position with weak hands just for the pot odds. I'm never comfortable playing at limpy tables so it's good to see someone who's game I respect doing the same. I'm assuming that you'd be less likely to do so when the starting chip stack is fewer BBs, but that I should be still happy doing so at ring games where the table is that limpy.

Do you multi table much Rex? I like the attention to player's hands, but never get as much detail as you, especially when multi tabling.

No part II Skol, I stopped recording there. Doubled up on one the guys I was watching, then won a few small pots, but never got the big one and fell just short on the money.

Nine, I play 1 table more often than not and sometimes two. My game suffers even with two as I pay a huuuuge amount of attention to the players at my table looking for information and you can't do as well with twice the info to gather.

And with fewer bbs I'm less limpy, more inclined to raise and tighter in starting hand selection both in terms of position and cards.

I'm planning on doing some more of these at various stages of tournies, hopefully I'll get a first hour where I get some hands to play by way of contrast.

Well I'd love to see more.

You play a style that's always had me intrigued, and although we've all seen you crush MTTs, we've never really seen it from your point of view. I'm gonna rewatch this one because I was piefaced last night and don't remember much, but I'll also be looking forward to new ones (perhaps rebuys as well?) too

Very kind. To be honest I think I play all the styles at one point or another, hopefully as the table, stack sizes, prize structure (and cards) dictate.

I'm playing my favourite tourney, the 1400 et $33 on Party in 30 mins and I'm planning to record it, so hopefully something interesting will happen

fyi youtube only allows 10 minute videos, and the quality will generally be just as bad as google video, I think.

Nice to finally here a familiar dialect . Great vid, but I can't get the rapidshare link to work It's probs just my comp being spazzy. Boy are you rigorous with notes/hhs/etc.! This is a great way to get to know situational play with different types of opponents and you have inspired me to review more. Make more vids now!

No sooner said than rendering

Just went out of the $33 tourney in 101st of 256 with a fairly similar outcome to the first hour. However a different type of table and some possibly interesting hands.

Video will be up once rendered.

(and of course a wonderful voice Daks, I speak proper I do )

Those are technically breaches of YouTube contract and in due course will be removed once YT notices them. It has to be 10 mins/100mbs afaik

Please talk louder next time lol. I have my volume all the way up and have to strain to hear you. And don't apologize for that accent.

I better get back to it - I need all the ammunition I can get on you.

I also had issues with the volume but my speakers suck so figured it was mainly my end (which most of it probs is). You might be able to change the recording settings if shouting at yourself for an hour would feel weird

Hmmm volume was good for me on playback, have you turned up the PC volume (for want of a better term) as well as the speakers.

Today's is at the same volume but I'll up it next time.

I had to struggle but barely heard them. I had turned my speakers all the way up but forgot on this new computer that the volume was on low lol.

The way that's set up is that the movie is broken down into 10 minute parts, and each one is a 'video response' to the last part, so the link to the next part is always right below the vid you're watching. And ya, it's just a sneaky way of getting past the copyright laws. They'll probably be removed soon, then reposted etc.

I can't believe how terrible some of those players at your table were, maybe I need to deposit some money onto Party.

Nice video though!

Biggest pro to living outside of america is that the us-free sites are full of drunk spaniards who have difficulties with clicking buttons.
