CC hole replay tourney feedback thread / hole card tourney #2 suggestions.

To view #1 and find out what it is click here.

Post any comments, suggestions, questions anything about #1 and the soon to be #2.

Were planning on doing a 2nd one soon and are planning to do like 1 or 2 every 6 months so there not going to be a regular thing.

#1- lot of kinks and mess ups that will be able to be fixed in #2.

#2- This one isnt going to be a loyaler only event and is going to be open to any active cc member. The loyaler one the first 8 to reply got to play but i dont think that will be the best thing to do for the 2nd one. Thoughts?

I think the work done on this was amazing. I'll be the first to sign up for the second event, even though it is not a first come, first serve

I was thinking ee should have a $5 buy in and the top 8 get to play the replay event. Although the replay event wont be a $5 buy in.

Good job Misch and Chris. I think it would be a good idea to open it up to the general forum and have a real variety of players.

I think playing a tourney for the spots in the replay event is a good idea. What buy-in will the replay event be then? $10 again? (if that's what it was the first time, I already forgot)

Great idea! Make people earn the right. If someone can't make it, move down to nine to fill the spot.

My suggestions;

1) Leave it a while to get full benefit of first exercise (and I think Nick should make video more prominent, maybe a link on front page - other sites would charge $50+ for instruction like this, and it's going to be buried amongst other threads soon).

2) 9 (or 8) new players, including Dorkus this time (maybe Freakakanus and Mischman can get special exemptions, maybe Tenbob too).

3) Get a deposit from participating members (i.e. $20 PokerStars transfer to Mischman, which is returned when HH is sent?). It would fall in a hole if one person fails to send HH.

4) Personal thing, I couldn't see bet amounts on the video i watched - instead of saying "standard raise" it would have been more useful if he said actual amounts.

5) Email Pokerstars to see if they can do event with no late entrants so table is together from the beginning.

6) If oversubscribed, run a v.small series of qualifying events.

7) If Nick adds money, make it clear who it is going to (I presume JL got the full $50?).

Use the downloadable vids if this is a hassle (you can sort of infer the bet amounts by the chips displayed, btw, though I admit it's awkward) - I'm probably not gonna give a play-by-play commentary.

If I can find some sort of way to get the HHs working in the replayer I have that uses a Stars skin then I will do that, which will hopefully give a clearer idea of what's happening than the ugly Poker Tracker replayer.

I agree with your other points though.

Havn't had time to watch this vid yet, don't know if i can watch all of it considering its length, but I'll defeinitely check it out. And if there is a 2nd one, I'm in for playing in it. The qualifying tourney sounds like a nice idea, to be able to control the amount of players and to get Hand History commitments from everyone playing.

I partially like the idea of qualifiers, though I wouldn't want it to be first place only. Maybe top 3 from 3 events. I think we would want to include a variety of skill levels - even those who struggle to get to the money. They could probably really benefit from this. Or maybe only 5-6 of the positions be won through qualifiers and find another way to select the other few.

Rob's other suggestions are all very good.

Good idea, ill talk to nick

I already asked chris if was playing this time, i think he should.

If its all regular members i dont think we need to worry abotu anyone not sending HH's.

what he said^^^^
5) Email Pokerstars to see if they can do event with no late entrants so table is together from the beginning.
E-mailed the affiliate department saturday, will prbly get a reply today
6) If oversubscribed, run a v.small series of qualifying events.
yes, the $5 top 9 get entrant tourneys

7) If Nick adds money, make it clear who it is going to (I presume JL got the full $50?).
I already have an idea, ill talk to nick.

I talked to pokerstars and they can put a max number of entrants(in our case- 9) which will get rid of the late registration problem.

Only thing im debating- $10 or $20 buy in?

I sort of said this in the other thread, but a faster commentary would be good - ideally "real time", i.e. mainly hitting Play then moving straight onto the next hand. We can pause slightly at a particularly interesting bit, but predicting what's going to happen before each hand doesn't serve much purpose apart from making the video even longer.

If people don't like this idea, maybe we could produce 2 versions - a long "in-depth" analysis of every hand that lasts 3 hours, and a short action version with realtime commentary that fast forwards through the boring / standard bits. That would hopefully cover both the people who want to be "educated" and those who want to be "entertained".

Chris doesn't have to do both, we could get another commentator for the short version.

You could do it, then the women could ooh and ahh over your English accent too. Though Chris might get jealous.

I will probably only watch the first one because i've played with all the people involved, and would be interested to see how they play. If it was filled with people i don't know, i'd be less inclined to watch, though from an educational stand point, i could see how that would be better

I don't think you need to be increasing the buy ins. if you mean for this to be instructional, and not just a fun reward for the people playing, any buy in will do as long as you get people who will take it seriously, which around here shouldn't be too difficult.

I would also suggest, as a change of pace, doing a commentary on a cash limit ring game. maybe see if FP would be interested in doing the commentary, if he's still around. might be a little more practical instruction.

Maybe have interested parties do a small post saying why they want to play and pick the most worthy? it is useful as a development aid, and if you can afford $20, you're probably quite a good player already.

then do a no limit ring game. limit was FP's thing, which was why i suggested it. after all the real money in poker is to be made in ring games, so i thought it might be more benificial. Is the point of this only to improve the play of those involved in the game (or amuse them) and have Chris do the commentary? or to provide a valuable learning tool to everone who uses this community?

Watched the vids from the first one and found it very enjoyable and informative. I'd love to have a chance to be involved in a second one so i'd vote for a mini tourney to allow us newcomers a chance to get into the game.

They've actually already played the 2nd game. There was a qualifier tournament to determine who would play in the replay tournament.
