Today's Freeroll Password Problems

I'm posting this thread and locking all others, because frankly I don't have the time or desire to reply to all the threads on the issue.

I personally don't know why the password wasn't posted at it's usual time, as I live on the west coast, so I'm usually not the one to post it. Be that as it may, as soon as I heard the password wasn't up, I tried like mad to get in and post. Of course we all know the server by that time was overloaded, so my attempts to get in were fruitless, and I was only able to get an announcement up throught the modCP.

I understand being frustrated at not getting the password, and we do sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. But for those of you implying that we somehow did this on purpose, give me a break. As I said in another thread, mods are not immune to a busy server, and just like all of you, can't get in.

Remember folks, these happen every week, so there's always the next one. For those of you trying to get in today but were unable to, I apologize for your lost time.

I'm locking all the other threads on this subject, so any comments you have can be posted here.

Ok... I understand that the server went bad...so as to I won't have this problem yet AGAIN.... please PM me the password because I am very disappointed in the much wasted time.

It's not the point of the server..its the fact that spending the time on this site waiting to only find that cardschat didnt uphold their end is frustrating.

I enjoy playing poker. I am a very well manored lady....but my time was wasted and its not the servers fault..its the fault of whomever is suppose to post the password 1-4 hours prior to start. If the password was emailed to those of us that have been around awhile then server overloading would never be an issue.

I've never griped before...I'm just frustrated..as well as you can understand, bc I'm sure you're just as frustrated as we are for these posts.

Good luck to those of you that got in the freeroll during the server crash...

I too had alot of trouble getting the thread up to let them know what the password was. I'm just glad it finally got posted so some of them could play.

You know, it's possible to make sure this never happens again by assigning the loyalers the task of checking at the 1 hour mark to see if the password has been posted and, if not, to post it.

They are loyalers for a good reason and this shouldn't be an inconvenience to any of them.

Once it gets down to 20-30 minutes until the tournament it's too late, people overload the server clicking refresh every 5 seconds.

I can understand how things go wrong and these are free with another one coming up tomorrow so it's not the end of the world, although I'm sure it seems that way to people who spent 3 hours off and on trying to find the password.

MHO

So here's my humble opinion on todays event. I was amongst the many others who were unable to participate in the freeroll today. I admit I was disappointed cause I was looking forward to it. I've read the angry posts here and although I acknowledge others frustration and disappointment, I want people to look at what this forum has to offer. It's not just freerolls. There is alot of value in this forum other than the tourneys they offer. People here are very generous to share their tips, strategies, humor, links to sites. I read earlier a post where Dorkus posted news clippings of a members comment. Had the best laugh all morning.
Slam me if you want regarding my post, but I ain't gonna let todays events take away from what I have gained here or the people I have been fortunate to meet.

I did start trying to post the password with about 50 minutes before the tourney started but it kept giving me the busy signal. I kept trying and trying and trying! Finally got it posted as soon the server would let it go through.

While I understand that Cardschat has their internal problems.

But, my time is better put to something else.

Therefore I believe that Cardschat should provide for me all FREEROLL passwords in advance via PM..... oh yeah, and I should get $1,000,000.00 for my inconvenience.

This should deter any further server mishaps.

You know Cajun, I can appreciate that you may be a very well manored (sp) lady... but you don't show it in this post.

It is not CardsChat's fault that you wasted your time waiting for the password for a FREEROLL tournament. In fact, one could argue that the entire freeroll would be a waste of your time. There is no contract between the user and CardsChat that requires CardsChat to hold up their end of the bargain. This is a FREE SERVICE that GIVES YOU money to play poker on several sites. You should be extraordinarily patient with any problems that occur. No, you will never get the password PM'ed to you.

Note to all freerollers: I would not be suprized if Nick pulls monetary support from the freerolls because of your behavior today. It is un-excusable!

sorry hon...however, I was just going by the sticky that said passwords are posted 1-4 hours prior to start of tournament. Seen no stickys whatsoever that stated passwords would be posted 10-15 min prior to start.

Reason I said they should be PM'ed, is because I know a few forums that do this and its all smooth sailing.

Perhaps cardschat can do what some forums do, get their list of members and then only those with tickets could play...this will cut out all the multiple accounts from playing.

I'm only offering suggestions on how this can run smoother.

If there is a lack of help for the administrators, I would gladly offer my assistance. Just dont take this as me trying to brown nose to become a loyaler...bc one thing a southern belle will not do is brown nose anyone..however (ONLY A JOKE) who can i email some very saucey pics to get to that status. JUST A JOKE! haha ^wink

I was debating weather to place this quote here or in the "Joke Of The Day" section.

Cuz, it is pretty funny.

WHAT PART OF THE WORD FREEROLL DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND?

SPOILT BRATS.

I dont understand what all the complaining is about it has been explained what happened several times and pointed out it was only a freeroll and as I stated in a previous post...if your only here to play in a freeroll why bother anyway when nearly all clients includeing poker stars where this one was held have freerolls on them for all ... I dont mind getting beat bye a bettter hand anytime but I hate to be beat by a whiner

All 25 of your posts (most of which are complaining that you didnt get into this freeroll), did that really waste "much" of your time?
I am very sorry that you spent "the time on this site" waiting for the freeroll password.
Perhaps you would prefer to spend time on another forum that doesnt offer freerolls.

Usually I stay out of the drama, but holy hell, 90% of the posts today are from people that I havent seen before and that are only complaining about a damn freeroll!

(Edit: I agree with NevadaNick ^^^)
