So you will see our games in the Fulltilt lobby - but they won't start until next weekend. (assuming we get the passwords this week).

We will post more information and details as soon as we have it.
Thanks for the update & the new schedule looks good. GL on the tbls

New Schedule

Hey, i happen to like the new schedule, it gives some of us west coasters time to actually wake up and be ready to play!! plus there is alot of other tourneys usually played at the same time. anyways everyone will just have to get used to the changes? also why did the prize pool drop from 400 to 200? that kinda sucks.... but i guess we will just have to deal with it. man i was really lookin forward to this game. oh well now i have time to update my blog with the new mouthwatering homemade recipe this morning, check it out.... Recipes, and So Much More

I am very dissappointed that there will be no freeroll today as it was posted in the tournament lobby on fulltilt. This miscommunication is slightly disturbing and i hope the lack of organization and communication is not a constant when dealing with this site.

Thanks for the info, dak -- maybe you could sweet-talk FT into doubling the prizepool next week, since the event will be canceled this week?

Anyone ever tried a withdrawal from full tilt? You wait and wait and then several weeks/months later they action it. I think it is one of the worst organised sites. I don't have an axe to grind on this. Just a fact that Party, bodog and others are responsive, FT isn't.

In a way I'm glad there isn't a freeroll today. Got to watch the Daytona 500.

Just as an example, yesterday someone on a BBC show said "I am sat here next to" where in America we would say "I am sitting here next to", the same goes for the word "standing", on the same BBC show the person said "I am stood here next to" so there are differences. Just because we don't delineate it with an "official" term doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Of course there are spelling differences too between the same words in both English and the American versions.
That wasn't my point. USA has no official language. English is not the official language in the USA (this is why all documents, manuals, etc. published by the government have both English and Spanish).

Everyone knows there are differences in usage or...probably all languages. Hence your putting punctuation outside of quotation marks, which is not an "American" English standard, but a British convention.

If you enjoy this (...boring?) discussion, read Lynn Truss's Eats Shoots and Leaves. I'm leaving it alone now. Period. I mean, full stop.

You are correct. My intention was to alert you to the fact that the freeroll was listed - what I read was the section passwords are normally posted. I missed this thread.

Thanks for the information

U.S. ENGLISH, Inc.: Towards a United America
U.S. Senate Votes to Make English the National Language

Measure to reduce government multilingualism passes with strong bi-partisan margin

Washington, D.C. — By a bi-partisan vote of 64-33, the U.S. Senate passed an amendment late last night to make English the national language of the United States and reduce the entitlement to multilingual services. The S.I. Hayakawa National Language Amendment Act of 2007, offered by Sen. James Inhofe to the comprehensive immigration reform legislation currently pending in the Senate, declares that there is no affirmative right to receive services in languages other than English, except where required by federal law.
“If we want to understand what made past waves of American immigrants so successful, we must focus on the language that helped them become Americans — English,” said Mauro E. Mujica, Chairman of U.S. English, Inc. “I want to thank those Senators who voted to continue America’s proud tradition of uniting our diverse people through one common language. In recent years, our nation has gotten away from the strong governmental message sent by operating overwhelmingly in English. This vote indicates that we are ready to leave the failed experiment of government multilingualism and return to increasing English learning.”

They're referring to American English.
We'll probably start using their "correct" spelling as soon as the Brits stop honoring a King or Queen.

Given a choice of Queen Elizabeth or a George W Bush, I can't see many people voting in favour of abolishing the monarchy...

You know, a huge part of being a moderator is simply being able to rise above the rabble. The number of shrill comebacks from this particular mod leads me to believe that the skin is a bit too thin. This isn't a position worn well by folks who require accolades in a criticism-free zone to remain comfortable. Moderators are inherently lightning rods for the site. To paraphrase, "If you can't stand the ----, get out of the -------."

You know, a huge part of being a decent member is not simply popping up every two weeks or so to make a fresh pointless whine post. Debi was not being offensive, did not come across as overly agitated, and simply made a point while being somewhat amusing.

You, on the other hand, are just being a moaning nuisance. Whatever happened to you, Rammer?
