Sunday Fulltilt Freeroll

As announced in other threads this freeroll has been moved to 5:30pm. However there will not be one today - we sent our new schedule of tournaments to Fulltilt and they have not sent us back all of the details which would include the passwords. So you will see our games in the Fulltilt lobby - but they won't start until next weekend. (assuming we get the passwords this week).

We will post more information and details as soon as we have it.

Full Tilt PokerFull Tilt Poker is the poker site the pro's play at. US players are welcome - use Full Tilt Poker referral code CARDSCHAT for a $600 bonus.

Absolute PokerAbsolute Poker Referral Code CCHAT will get you a 100% upto $500 bonus at AbsolutePoker.com.

It will be interesting to see if the idiots who clog up the site waiting for the Sunday freeroll password do so today. I'm sure most of them are too ignorant to read the messages about either the time change or the lack of a freeroll today.

I mean there were 40 people sitting in the freeroll section already. It should be interesting.

In a way I'm glad there isn't a freeroll today. Got to watch the Daytona 500.

I don't necessarily think that they're ignorant, or that they're idiots - maybe English isn't their first language. It could be considered quite ignorant to refer to them in that way, however, and jump to conclusions.

You think your way, I'll think mine. Whatever their first or tenth languages are, I think they know enough to know freeroll and I doubt there's anyone who doesn't recognize the word "no", the same as those of us who speak English, or American, can figure out nyet or non or whatever the term in most languages is that means "no".

I'm just glad that the lowered the amount of the tourney. The time didn't matter to me but I thought it was best earlier so the European players would have an easier time playing. I'm sure it would be difficult for a lot of the Europeans to play starting at 10pm or 11pm or later, depending on the time zones.

I don't know if you've ever been to a foreign language forum and tried to navigate your way around, but I think it's fair to assume that you wouldn't necessarily pick up on a thread which told you that the tournament would appear in the listings at the poker site concerned, but that poker site hadn't sent you the password, so it wouldn't actually be taking place...

That wouldn't necessarily imply that you were ignorant, or stupid.

The United States of America does not have an official language... but I love it when people throw out the "speak American" talk - go watch Crash.

Payout structures change as people register. Today it will stay at 1 place for $200.

Lobbies like the $100 freerolls always show the 1-27 place finishes as they know they will always fill to 2700, even before the registration starts.

Tourn sponsors (like C/C) designate a prize structure (say 10%) and it will change as the registration levels change.

Today it won't change - since no one can register ...

There are major differences in how Americans and British extraction people speak the same base language. I watch BBC America quite often for shows and there are expressions and word usage that I've never heard in American speak.

Just as an example, yesterday someone on a BBC show said "I am sat here next to" where in America we would say "I am sitting here next to", the same goes for the word "standing", on the same BBC show the person said "I am stood here next to" so there are differences. Just because we don't delineate it with an "official" term doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Of course there are spelling differences too between the same words in both English and the American versions.

I usually work on a Sunday evening, so I probably won't be able to participate, but there are plenty of other CC tournies that I can play in...

The English that Americans speak is not the same as the English that the English speak, which is presumably what MDTed was referring to...

EDIT: Oops, he beat me to it...

OMG. This might be the only time I get to play on a sunday CC freeroll (for a while) and its canceled. I find that a bit amusing.
I'll see how the new schedule works, though, with the later FR time. Thanks to JQ, Nick, and everyone for looking out and taking the time do make the FR's better and more convenient for the members of CC.

PokerStars: Im not complaining about the FR cancel, I just find it pretty funny. I am a bit heart-broken, though.

Whoo Hoooo - Time Change

So nice to see that the time has been changed - hope this also means that the registration time changes also - seeing that we go to church every sunday - I have to have one of my 'Heathen' friends to register me while I pray to God... that way I have the right to say: OMG when someone sucks out.... Anyway - Thanks for the Info.... XiMaker

Well the time it was at before seemed as the perfect time to me since at before it was late afternoon in in the US and early in the in the evening in Europe.
But as you write it will now start around 10pm or 11pm in Europe, which means that the games will not end until well after midnight. As I see it that will result in one of two things. 1. the Europeans will no longer participate in the cardschat freerolls. 2 The Europeans will still sign up for the freerolls an play extremely agreesive/stupid going all in a lot in the first hour, just as you see people do on the Full Tilt Poker freerolls that are open to everyone, which is to bad as since in my opinion that will ruins the game.

But in any case I will not be complaining to much about new schedule, since it is just a freeroll
