Something I learned today

Well, I learned that the CC freerolls are fixed, from a couple of railers that did not get in. I also learned that everybody that did manage to get in sucks up to the mods.

Both of those, are flat out retarded statements. Dakota did a hell of a lot more than I would ever do for you guys today. No telling how many emails she replied to, all during the time she was trying to play a buy in tournament. Far too many people took advantage of this, and several probably passed the password along to other players and forums. Thanks for all the time you put in Dakota!

As for the rest of you whiners that only have one post, it is your own fault you could not get in. Thats what happens when you morons flood the site to get a password to a freeroll. You ruin it for A LOT of people

I did my best. We will make some changes that will prevent this from happening every Sunday.

Why the negativity? We all know that there are many people on this site that want to get into the freerolls and don't want to post. I think there could be a few different possibilities such as not being able to get the passwords unless you post.

Also I would agree on there being a no e-mail the mods policy. If the passwords are not up, for the sake of fairness I would just let the loyalers play.

I would have liked to play, but then again, what can you do?

I was okay with the emails - gave them my email address. I wanted as many legit members to play as possible. They all had to send proof of cc membership.

I was not planning on playing in the freeroll today because I worked until an hour before it started. I was surprised when I got home to see it was not full. I tried to get on the site to check the password, but it was overloaded. As always, I would have liked to have been able to play, but I am not going to go nuts and make a bunch of threads complaining about the people that got in or what the mods did.

If you do not like the way things are run around here, there are plenty of other forums out there for you to join.

Because if we are going to let them play a freeroll from the FORUMS money, they should be active members and not 2 to 3 posters

Missed it too

I will admit I was annoyed by logging in and not being able to get the password. On the other hand I wasn't going to bother any moderators or anyone else by inundating them with emails. If the password became available, great, but if it wasn't then it wasn't meant to be.

I will complain, but what can I say. I like to complain, vent about bad beats, and whine about just about anything....

WTF? I'm not saying anything about people whining, but from my perspective the site's servers crashed. I couldn't access the site for 2 hours and missed the window completely.
Now I may not be an advanced/senior member, but that kind of attitude from forum members doesn't make the community seem very appealing or inviting, especially in the aftermath of serious technical difficulties with the site.

Hmmm....Dont think I said your name buddy. If you're gonna be a regular poster and contribute to the forum, more power to you. If not, you fit into the category of what I am talking about

I realized quickly after I tried to log in this morning that it wasn't going to happen. I considered emailing a moderator, but I did not want to add to their work load. I figured that everyone and their brother were emailing them, which I am sure gets annoying. I think in the future the password should be sent out via email to any loyaler members. I do not know how your mailing list works. Is it possible to set it so it will only mail people with a certain number of posts, or active members? I am relatively new here, so I was not too upset that I wasn't able to register today. In the future I would love to play in some CC games though, and it will be difficult if the same problem persists. I am sure that the CC staff will figure something out in order to make it fair for everyone.

The site probably was too busy with the amount of traffic they were recieving , which happens on some freeroll days.

It seems to me that a lot of you guys seem to put a lot of empasis on the post count when deciding a members worth to the community

I get a great deal out of cardschat , I visit the forums daily but only make the occasional post. I do play in the Monthly Titan free roll and especially enjoy the Saturday 9pm tournament on Titan where there is a much better standard of opposition than at the level I play normally

It will be a long time before I rack up a post count anywhere near the regular members for the simple reason that I am not an experienced poker player and would not consider myself to be able to offer advice in any of the hand analysis catagories. By the same token I have considered posting hand histories asking for advice but have not simply because of the responses I have seen to other newbies questions that have been mocking or derogatory.

If the aim of the site is to generate active participating members then there are more issues to address than just the way you fill your freerolls

Compared to the flame roasting which people get at other forums, CC is benign. If there are negative comments they are either directed at "Wherez the pword?" posts or people who are claiming xpert skills they clearly don't have.

People who post genuine questions get good amazingly civil answers from a range of people genuinely trying to help rather than boost their own ego. The contrast with elsewhere is huge.

As to valuing non-posters, one of the other threads contains my view that non-posters and lurkers are part of the community and to be valued.

We regularly make the point that quality of posts is more important than quality, but of course if people don't post at all we can't judge the quality and those who make quality posts often end up posting more.

My advice is to post a HH with a genuine question and you'll be suprised at the response you get. Then try the same thing at a couple of other places and compare and contrast

Am I missing where it is posted about what happened this Sunday. Can anyone direct me to the explanation why there were all the problems. I'm guessing there are new requirements to play in these frs?

I tried to edit my post didn't work so don't think I'm trying to rack them up lol, but I think I figured out the answer to my question nevermind.
