Ridiculous, and slightly amusing.

So, for the past 3 hours.. the site has either been too busy to load..or popping out database errors.

Got enough FRW's here? Last week, people were complaining because the tourney filled too fast..what happened this week? It didn't stand a chance to fill cause every FRW in existance on the site was reloading waiting for the password. Completely ridiculous.

Am I upset that I didn't get in the Freeroll? Not at all, couldn't care less really..what I am upset about is for the past 3 hours, I couldn't even connect to the site to check threads I've posted or replied to.

Hopefully this will make you mods look in to a better way to go about the freerolls, than just handing them out to anyone that may happen to sign up for the site. Especially those that sign up for the sole purpose of the freerolls.

We're supposed to be a community, as far as I know. You may as well give away money weekly to random people, it would probably serve the same purpose.

I vote for a change in the way entering freerolls is achieved, so people that actually contribute here stand a chance over any passer-by. I myself don't care if I can play in them.. but I'm sure some people that contribute more than enough to the site do. What I care about is being able to actually connect to the site, whether I want to join the freeroll or not.

Was it even more ridiculous that once I was able to connect to the right thread there was no updated password there!??? How were all those members able to get the password?

A little over 2 hours for me. I got on 2 minutes after the freeroll started. Did we set a new record for members online?

That is because when I went in and changed the password there were already so many people hitting refresh that when I clicked on edit the server crashed. Over 600 people can not hit refresh repeatedly at the same time.

Good question you have there about how they got the password.

sounds good.
i personally made it - barely, with maybe 25 minutes to go. (and i first thought there is no way i was going to, because i actually remembered to look for a password at maybe 1:10pm ET.) then i just left the site until after the tourney started, to let more people join if possible.
well, good luck to any who made it!

slightly ridiculous?? I vote worse

HI "advanced member." I'm a new member (w/in the last month) and I simply can't find the passwords, even though there's a forum thread supposed to take me there! The passwords there are old, even though I see the freeroll listed for today. Whatever . . . the only one I tried to use filled up so fast I couldn't get in. Any suggestions on where I'm NOT looking??? Thanks. I'm not sure I'll be sticking around this site.

What I propose..is instead of adding them to the regular password section.. you make the quality post count higher for freerolls. 15 is fine for buy-in passwords, cause they're paying to play.

But freerolls are..well..free. Contributing members of the community should have a better chance than those who've contributed nothing, or those that just stop by and read (or at least claim to) I'm sorry, but I don't feel stopping by to benefit our advice, qualifies anyone as a member of the community.

I know it sounds like I'm mad that I didn't get in the freeroll, but I'm not. I'd rather play in a $5 rebuy for 5k guaranteed or whatever..but those who are active members of the community, that do want a chance at free money, should get it.

So I don't care if the requirement is 50 quality posts, or 200..just because the freerolls are free.. doesn't mean accessing them should be..(not in terms of money, but activity)

Hate to admit it, but I think I was part of the problem. When I finally got the password, I realized that the server was so overloaded that the freeroll would probably not fill up. So I opened up about 8 more tabs to try to keep it clogged. It worked, only 673 people today, sad part is I busted right away. So much for that edge.

I have been gone awhile, finally get to play in the Sunday FT freeroll and can't even get in. Well, at least those people that get to post early got in and other sites that post the password got it.

Time to move on I guess. This forum is designed for European players and discriminates against people that post just to post.

I thought I found a new home. Sigh.

There was an "announcement" on top of the freeroll password page with the password in it. Unless you were actually paying attention to the page and not just clicking refresh over and over you wouldn't have noticed it.

You're looking in the right place, probably. But the thread's won't show as new when you're looking at the forum. They're just updated, not a new post.

So while the thread title may be 'Full Tilt Freeroll 6-10-07(or whatever)' ..that's where you want to look for the password.

Where did the password get posted

I would like an answer to where the password was posted, as I still cannot see it. And how, more than 600 people managed to get it?

If the only reason you are here is for the freerolls, I don't think your threat to leave will have much effect.

Made it in about 14 minutes before game time. Tried for hours...

Was getting frusterated at so many loging in I thought I'd check the theory of Railbirds sharing CC password a good 2 hours before the game and sure enough there was one about emailing the password. A quick look and about 20 posters on that thread were signed into the game. I went back to take a screenshot for the Mods but the thread was gone. Next time I'll take one as soon as I see it. I can give you a few names but I realy wish I had solid proof instead.

It would be kind of pointless to post a password for a tournament that has already started don't you think??

What a joke Mr. Sticker. Hope you had fun in your loyaler Vs. password sharer freeroll. How can prorails from other sites get passwords and others get excluded? From what I see so far, the password sharers are kicking your guys butts, lmao. Good luck.

To anyone who wonders from time to time, "Where's Rammer?", today is a pretty good answer. Nothing personal, but it's always something on this site. Count me among those who wasted a few hours today trying to access an overloaded server, only to find when I finally got there that the password had never been changed from last week's post on 2/03/08. I noticed something about the password appearing in some sort of "announcement", but I never saw it. Why would I look anywhere for the password except the password thread? This site is very earnest about what it's trying to accomplish, and the mods who contribute their time to it mean well, but come on. Don't throw the party poker if you can't produce the treats. Sorry if this comes off as negative, but Sunday afternoons are short enough without tossing them away on this kind of nonsense.

Maybe have a back-up plan in case this happens again?

I think what I meant with my post was that I was trying to get to the exact post for almost 2 hours (refreshing every 10-15 mins), and then there is no password...

Don't really matter that much, but I wish there was a chance to get the password although I do plan on staying at this forum regardless.

I was unable to post the password in the correct section because over 600 people jammed it up doing ridiculous things like hitting refresh repeatedly, pulling up CC in 10 browsers and creating additional id's to jam us on multiple pc's.

I was eventually able to access the mod cp long enough to post an announcement - I could not post or update a thread from there.

I think I should be thanked for my effort.

Nope, no one gives a shit about you, and never have.

It's the second day of the CC team event that the active members of the site have put loads of effort into, and the day has been ruined by the contribute nothing leaches like you.
