Not sure if I signed up via a CC link or not. I signed up awhile ago when there was talk of a Cardschat team. Did we have a link back then? Is there a way to check Nick? I would be willing to deposit and earn the points if I was able to participate. I'll try to find out through the site, just didn't know if there was a way for you to check on your end...

Yeah, Jess, I'm pretty sure we had a link then. But it's the "pretty sure" that's got me thinking, since I'm not "absolutely positive". How's that for a helpful answer? LOL

Hi!

If you let me know your nicknames, I can check for you if you signed up through an earlier CardsChat.com link.

Otherwise, I hope to see you make a deposit and enter the freeroll on PokerRoom.com!

I already signed up a LONG time ago. I thought you don't have to download pokerroom. Last I understood, it's the only poker site you don't have to download. Waht's the minimum deposit, by the way?

You don't have to. Pokerroom and Cherry Poker (from the same network) both have flash/java versions that you can run. But they also have a downloadable version as well.

Having played on both versions, I would recommend downloading the software. It's much better IMO, and runs more smoothly. Use the CC link to download the software, and who knows? You may be able to get in. Worth a shot anyway.

Sounds interesting. Could be really cool, especially if it's a small group (though for Nick's sake, I hope it's a big one!), and it'd be fun too.

Unfortunately, for some of us Canucks that's a holiday weekend (the unexcitingly named Civic Holiday), but if I'm able to make it I'll sign up through the link and be there!

No biggie, thanks for checking. I went back to check it out and actually it's a pretty crappy site. Very slow and lot's of rude racist players there (sat at a play table and only heard the "N" word out of one guy towards the black guy avatar)
I'm thinking it's time to reduce my number of poker sites on my computer by 1 and I know just which 1 to boot.
Thanks for checking it out for us though!

This sound like a really great deal. Fortunatly I'm not a member at Pokerroom yet, so I can sign up from here .
Question for those who completed the 50% bonus: You got 1$ for every player points transferred to your account, or you only got the bonus when you completed the whole (for ex. if you deposit 100$ only get the 50$ bonus after 7*50 points or in small pieces?) /just curious/. thanks

Okay, I found it in the faq section.
I will read before asking I promise .
You need to get 7*(bonus dollars) points and you get the bonus after you completed it, in one ammount.

Anyone know exactly what you have to do / how many raked hands you have to play to get the 100 player points and the bonus?

Had a look on the website, here's what it says:

HOW MANY POINTS DO I EARN IN POKER?

Hold'em, Omaha, 7 Card Stud
0.07 Player Points are awarded for every $0.10 paid in rake. So a rake of $3 will award all players in the hand 2.1 Player Points.

Tournaments
5 player points are awarded for every paid dollar in entry fee (real money tournaments). For example, if you enter a $20+2 tournament, you will be awarded 5 * $2 = 10 points, if you enter a $5+$0.50 tournament, you will be awarded 5*$0.50 = 2.5 points. The points are awarded when the tournament finishes.

So to get 100 player points, you have to pay $143 in rake. I guess that means winning about $3000 in cash hands. That's about 7000 hands at the $0.10/0.25 NL table.... hmmmmm, don't think I'll manage that before August 5th.

I suppose I could play 20 $10+1 tourneys... but that seems like a lot of effort just for one freeroll.

a $3,000 freeroll with probably 20 entrants? Play H2H ones, you should recoup most of your stakes.

OK I've got my 100 player points (yes already), after signing up through this page! I don't seem to have anything mentioning the CardsChat freeroll in the Tickets and Bonuses tab though. Do they email me or something? Or does it take some time for this to materialize? Has anyone else got a ticket yet?

Hello all - I have an update for you.

We've decided to put the tournament back a bit to give some of the lower volume players some more time to earn your points.

The Cardschat.com Pokerroom freeroll will now be at 5.30pm EST on Saturday the 2nd September. The prizepool is a confirmed $3000.

WOW

Ok now I consider that an incentive for a deposit..
Although I am wondering that if you didn't download it from cardschat would the entry apply?
There should be a bonus password on the deposit that would verify that the cardschat forum is responsible for one making a deposit..
