congrats.
i placed 24th i think, and it was because of some VERY stupid mistake of my part. it's the same way i've lost a few times now. I play big tourneys like this one ( 400-600 people ) and lately have been getting into the last 50 or more, but after 2 hours and a half i begin too lose focus. today i was like 20th with around 16000 chips and i was dealt 9 5 offsuit (BB) , the chip leader raised, as he was doing in every other hand, so i thought he was trying to steal the pot. I called. Flop came A 10 2. I made a small bet, he goes all in. Then for some reason ( stupidity maybe ) i called. He showed A 10 . End of the game for me. 24th and $1.30 into my account. Although i'm happy i got into the money, i still can't understand why i made that call ( up to that point i think i had played a reasonable good game ). anyways, maybe i'll try to focus a bit longer next time. btw, this is like the third time this happens to me in the last few days. I get to the final 50 and then comes a hand where im almost sure that on the losing end and i call. i'm doing a great job getting to the top 50, now i guess i'll have to start working on getting to the final table. |

wow, what made you call? not even a draw for anything? your post was ironic for me cuz i lost with a 95 also. i was big blind and no raises so i checked. i flopped 2 pair A95. i made a small bet first, the next guy raised, and the next guy all in (he was a very small stack). i called with my 2 pair, then the guy turned over A9. i guess i shoulda been able to make a better read since there was no raise preflop, they prolly didn't have AK, AQ or something good like that. my bad though, i shoulda folded. |

wow! ive been there...
just hearing part of the game today by fellow cardschater's reminds me ofof my playing skills, i knew better but thought i was being bluffed...bam i lost.... but that's the nice thing about studing our game, you learn from it.one example (not a tourney .5-.10-cent tables NL tables) i start small blind with pocket 8's on the flop all hearts, with my 8 to make 3 of a kind calling my name? BAM!!! guy goes all in, my mind says the guy has a flush,FOLD or chase 4 of a kind(yeah right its beautiful when it does happen) but i go all in with 3 of a kind, you all know what happen, ![]() i'll be playing the free roll and the ferguson tonight @ F.T. gl if you play tonight laterzs ![]() Last edited by txtech : 16-07-2007 at 6:30 AM. |
