Ok, I originally came to CC for the FRs. Since that time I've played 2. You see I learned something about myself; I am not a FRW. I am a bad post junkie.

There are lots of great suggestions here, and we have already implemented change. Keep an eye out for the new changes. I think there's a little something for everyone, and we are really excited about it!

We could always shift the pressure to FT.

Early password release, then don't open registration till 5 minutes before the start. No sit outs!

Or maybe list it as a SnG that will start when 900 people show up! Again, no sit outs.

FT has shown they can deal with a huge rush at registration time.

Only someone spoiling for an argument would have interpreted otherwise. But you're certainly in good company.

Anyway, it's obvious the current mood isn't conducive to productive dialogue, so I'm not going to foolishly burn any more of my day here than I already have. You guys have fun hashing things out for whatever you feel it's worth. My part in the debate permanently concludes here. I could not frankly care less one way or the other.

I will only say that if today is any indication, the six months I've spent completely away from a computer have seen an influx to CardsChat of ill-mannered, obnoxious, intolerant, elitist jerks. I used to enjoy conversing with a friendly community of poker enthusiasts, but it appears that the loudmouths and railhacks have staged a successful coup. I've made two posts which were as tactful as possible, and they were both savaged.

No worries. Enjoy your site. I leave it with you. Just know that CardsChat 2008 is a pale, crude, joyless shadow of its former self. Sad.
this seems to happen to all forums. theyre fun until about 10K membrs..
then...

I like the idea of the poker site only accept player registration 1 or 2 hours before the game. This works for another forum,it would work for this great forum too!.,this would reduce sitouts while not overloading the forum...and release the password a day or two in advance.

RJ, c'mon. What do you care? You haven't really posted here in 2 years. Did you come out of the woodwork just to call us ill-mannered, obnoxious, intolerant, elitist jerks? I for one would love to get you back in the fold. But not with that attitude.

Well said Four Dogs. To be honest im a little suprised with your attitude. With forums you tend to get what you give. There is lots around here, and some great advise. It ten times better than it was when you were around.

I don't need the freerolls plenty of other sites don't worry about post counts. I just thought they were fun and the way things have been changed isn't getting much positive feedback. There are way to many post counting whiny aholes on the cc forums.

I joined this site before I knew they ran FR's. I was pleasently surprised when I found out they did. For the people that join just for FR's, why don't you come and introduce yourself and get involved. You can only benefit from it.

Would it be possible to have two passwords for one tournament? This way you could give all the true loyalers the first password, and release the other password to the masses. Have the loyalers password eligible for registration a day before the tourney, and have the other password only available for registration 2 hours before the toruny starts. This way, you could release the passwords days in advance. The loyal members still get to register early, and everyone else gets a fair shot at getting in when their password is unlocked. Did you follow that?

Take this with a pinch of salt, though.

Another forum releases passwords by PM (and I do not mention Railbirds by name) and they don't seem to have a server problem with that.

The only thing I found interesting in this thread was that JD threw down the good old ban-hammer. And cracker's suggestion.

Yeah I'm curious why the passwords don't just get sent out to members in PMs, that seems like it would solve pretty much all the problems. But it doesn't really matter to me, I'm not big on free rolls.

I have played in fewer than 5 (probably 2, actually) freerolls from CC (several months ago) and I recently joined CarbonPoker through CC even though the bonus will expire before I ever have a shot of seeing any of the money. Some people don't play poker every day, and some people also aren't as committed to getting really, really involved in the forum because...well, some of us don't have that kind of time. Even though I greatly desire to become a better player and to find some real quality folks to talk strategy with, I'm not in a position where I can do that right now. I'm a casual browser of the site. I have read others' posts about bad beats and strategies, and yes I recently found out about the other freerolls (I previously only thought CC did a bodog freeroll), but I really don't consider myself to simply be some "newbie" that is abusing the system that is in place (I mean, I haven't even played one of these freerolls in quite some time) simply because I don't go around posting all of the time...and I just think it would be nice to see people treat each other with reverence.

Maybe a simple solution would come from the back end (no, not my ass - maybe the servers can be reconfigured to account for the peak times. Run different sections of the site off different machines, etc.?).

This site doesn't worry about post counts either, you only need to be a registered member.

Here's a suggestion. Lower the freeroll payout to $150 and most of the FRW's won't bother to play. Maybe do it twice a week at $150? Once for Euro players at 1pm Eastern US time and one at 8pm Eastern US time?

Or even lower it to $100 and do it 4 times a week. Anything to make it calmer for both the forum and the people that want to play.

This will not solve much. It will only make people angrier. People would just start to think its like a regular old full tilt poker freeroll, except with less entrants.

I don't think so. Look at this site when it's the PokerStars freeroll, or Ultimatebet or Bodog when they had them. There weren't 500 people sitting waiting for a password for a $100 or $150 freeroll.

If the people who are here just for the freerolls get angrier who really cares? What are they going to do, throw another tantrum? Seen it, don't really care.

It's because it's on a Sunday. You don't see 500 people sitting waiting for the password for the $1,000 Titan freeroll, either.

Those are our future potential members that you're showing such a cavalier attitude towards - and we love them all!

We are still having Bodog freerolls AFAIK, we're just waiting for an updated schedule... or have I missed out on some dramatic new announcement here about Bodog freerolls

Cardschat Fulltilt Sunday buy in

Personally I dont care what you do about the Sunday freeroll on Fulltilt, my problem was trying to log in so i could play the buy in tourney, would it be possible to at least email the participants of the buy in tournament the password (people that have played at least one or more). I was unable to log in to get the password for the $5 buy in due to the server issues.

Thanks,

Manamal

funny thing is, most of the freeloaders go all in and bust out the first hand, after 1 minute of tournament play, the number of players jumps from 900 to 800 lol
