With all the recent threads about this, and many people obviously doing it, i would expect the next freeroll to have double the amount of entries in it.

I'm just kidding of course, but maybe a registered IP on the website could help keep this to 1 ip address per entry.

What can be done?

When I get back I will try Ultimatebet again - but they want us to manage this.

not really sure how hard it would be to monitor isps but presuming these clowns are using the same computer for all their accounts, perhaps they could at least be watched to see if they are being active at the same time. that would at least give us some idea as to whats going on. im sure monitoring isps is the best way to go but like i said not really sure what all is involved with that.

I bet it has something to do with the money involved. If these people were doing this in one of their huge money tournaments, you know U.B would be handling this with a quickness.

Ban Access to the password If possible, until they can prove they are not the same person.

I know it's not a decision you have control over Dax, but I'd say revoking the sponsorship and traffic of a 38,000+ member site like CC might 'manage' it nicely. If Ultimatebet can't provide adequate customer service to a site that probably generates some good numbers for them, well, then screw UB.

(Can ya tell I'm in a bad mood this morning? )

I do not understand why people cheat especially in freerolls. At least make names that are not almost identical. It's like he is daring to be caught.

Most people that cheat will go out all the time, but this guy seems to keep placing in the money, thats why something needs to be done.

But without a 1 username per person kind of setup, it wont work, like others on this topic said, these people are dumb enough to keep the names similar.

What about the people that are smart enough to make 2-3 names without anything similar.

We can't rely on identification alone to catch people, we have to use a filter system. Then when someones nickname is popping up without being a registered player, they are easier to spot out.

i agree. lets say that even 10% are cheating, which seems high, but just for the heck of it, lets say that. about 40 people in an Ultimatebet freeroll are multi accounters. i know other sites will only let you have one account logged in at a time per isp. ultimate bet needs to do their part too.

honky & biff are the same person... he along with whitemeat follow me to just about every table i'm at on Ultimatebet. they have nothin better to do, i guess. they chatted about having up to 40 different IPs...i forwarded the chat info to UB and they said they would check into it--but, we all know how that goes by now (which is not very far @ all).

proves my point... Ultimatebet sucks dick ! i dont even play there anymore.. I deposited my money at PokerStars. Their software blocks same IPs from playing at the same tables and you cant play in less then 50 people game...
btw he isnt the only one who is doing so... i posted few more users like that and some other people complained about other users as well.. I figure its no point to send emails to Ultimatebet no more. They need to do some type of software update and make sure something like that is not happening.. I cant believe there's people stealing on low levels of money , what is going on at the mid and high stakes then?????

That was done ages ago.

We have the same problem at Pokerstars. At least Ultimatebet bothered to respond to my email - never heard a word from Pokerstars.

multi isp's on Ultimatebet.....honky69

let me play devils advocate for a minute. from what i've been reading seems this honky69 person has multiple isp's. i understand there is cheating going on, and i totally believe people can have multiple isp's. ( i've thought of it myself, but my morality won't let me. if i can't win playing fair, it's not worth it, it's an empty win.)

so here's the advocate part, i play on Ultimatebet quite a bit, only freerolls. there are a number of people with names like mine, about 5 that i know of. i just wanna say that it's not like that all time

I sent an email to Pokerstars about a similar thing and i get a reply in about 24 hours that they will check it but they wont let me know what will happen since their policy of privacy protection.

ok names can be similar but will you believe if you go into the list of players and see..there is a difference in:

Anthony11
Anthony39991
Anthony1980

and

BigPlaya69
BigPlaya6969
BigPlaya696969
BigPlaya969696

so i understand that the names can be similar but sometimes its just unlikely that these arent the same people...as in the BigPlaya example.. funny thing is a lot of them are having the same city in the ( ) next to their name.. coincidence?
