Full Tilt Sunday Freeroll: Increase Max Entrants?

Given that these have filled up to the 900 max-capacity the last two weeks, I thought I would pose the question and ask what you all think? Should we increase the amount of max entrants? Perhaps to 1500?

Of course, by increasing the max-capacity, it borders on making this "just another freeroll", and changes the dynamics of the tournament, in my opinion. Post your thoughts on the subject here.

I voted for decrease max entrants. I know that they are designed to attract new members and the more members the better. But i would rather the tourney have less entrants (who actually go on the forum), rather than 1,500 random people. Also if there was 1,500 entrants, it would just be another freeroll.

Ya it didnt fill until like 30 mins till it started anyway, theres no rush, no need for an increase of people with lots o PC's if ya know what I mean.

All the regulars got in didnt they?

Leave it alone or decrease it to 200 people and make it really worth winning. All the regulars should be able to make it with a early password release and will keep the sitouts to a minimum.

The problem is twofold.

The freeroll is intended to attract new members. A limit that is too low (not to pick on Freak but 200 is certainly too low imo) would be pretty counter-intuitive in this regard.

At the same time, who's gonna really want to play a 2k entrant $100 freeroll? Well, people probably would, but there comes a point where it's really not worth people's time in entering because there are much better freerolls out there.

That's basically why I said it's fine as it is - the 900 max strikes a nice balance between the two above issues.

Well since I don't play that one anymore, consider it my good deed to give up my spot to someone less fortunate. Every little bit helps.

I agree, the 900 max is probably the one thing i like best abt the CC fr's. u look at some of these others... and most of them arent even worth playing. At least CC's, if your playing good, and the cards fall, it can really be worth your time to make sure your here early enough to register.

but no 900 is good because then like juiceeQ said, its just another freeroll that pretty much anyone can join

any less and it would not be atttracting new cardschat members

900 is all good

I voted to decrease, and would add a stipulation that new members have to fill out their profile, complete with user names at the sites of the freerolls.

If the $350 prize pot can be sustained, then it will for sure be one of the juicier private freerolls in all of pokerland, and even reinstituting a minimum post requirement might serve our purposes better. Our purposes being to recruit new active members.

Some weeks are better than others, and we get at least a 'Thank You' from many of the winners, or others who had a good time. I haven't seen any from this last weekends FT contest.

Odd thing is both the finalists were very chatty folks, no strangers to keyboards. Runner up was a regular flibbertigibbet. Winner was a whiner until the final table when his better angels took over.

Well I voted no more. If it's increased I think you will lose alot of regulars, me for one. I enjoy playing in them and meeting new people. The newbies also appreciate the fact that there are regulars that they can speak too. they ask questions about CC and learn off of us, which interests them to return to our site to post. It'll lose the CC community feel to it and just be another freeroll if increased.

Looks like the membership is increasing quite rapidly every Sunday as is!

If your worried about accommadating everyone perhaps 2 freerolls!

I'm certain it's one of the most (the most?) popular private freerolls out there. I don't mind whatever size it grows or shrinks to. I do wish more of the players would participate here though. Straight up FRW's aren't going to be that interested in us as a community -- probably not much we can do there.

But we should be able to entice others to get caught up in CC spirit. I don't know how. Fun and games? Satties to the big freeroll? Trivia contests to gain entry? Regis and Kelly'esque questions about recent posts? Scavenger hunts?

I know we're not poker preschool. Just thinking out loud.

I vote that we decrease the amount guaranteed in the freeroll and move some of that to the buy-in games that are frequented by forum regulars.

Though my vote above was leave the game as is.

If there was a way to make this work it would be great!

I voted no to the increase.

im sure that the 2 votes that voted for the increase are non cardschat participating members that really only come on here looking for passwords

I sign up sunday morning but then i have to go to work until about an hour after the tourney starts, by that time i have an "m" of negative bajillion

i try to double up real quick and see if i can get anything going...but so far no takers...

only been able to play the freeroll from the start once, and i didnt do too well.

I think we should leave the game as is. It's got great structure and it's not hard to avoid the freerolly part of it if you're careful. Plus, I've seen a regular at a table each time, and I'd like to keep it that way

I vote to have it moved to Absolute Poker and then have it rigged in a different one of the regular posters favor each week, thereby giving the FRW a sense they can do well, but leave the real money to a more deserving person.

Oh but I think its should stay the way it is, if we allow less people we will be flooded with FRW posts whining about how loyalers get an unfair advantage and stuff like that....

I voted no, however if yall were to increase the number then how about a penalty for those who sign up and then don't play? Is that possible to do ? Something like ineligible for the next 2 weeks.

I voted to decrease it... It gives everyone involved a better chance of doing well... And it's usually the regulars that are their on time and ready for it anyways

This is the best Freeroll that I know of out there. By increasing the prize pool we have attracted a lot of members who now play only in the Freeroll. By increasing the max people we get the same useless members (most of the time) but less prize money for loyal members. I would say "AWESOME IDEA!!! INCREASE THE MAX PEEPS", but unfortunately not many of the new members become devoted members. I believe that if we increase the Max more people will get the pass but less of them will be loyal CardsChat members.

I think it would be a good idea if to get the Freeroll password you had to have a minimum of 15-30 posts. Just some thoughts.

Leave it as is, i lasted over 4 hours on sunday(Finishing 19th, btw) which is about as long as i could stand to sit here at my puter, any bigger of a field and i just would not have played.

I voted to leave it as is. 900 is plenty for a Sunday Freeroll.

I do like the idea of minimum "quality" post counts.

Just an FYI, we used to have a 15 minimum post count for freeroll passwords, and the forums were filled with so much crap posting, it was all the mods coudl do to keep on top of it. Since we've done away with it, it has cut down on a TON of it, and makes it at least a little more bearable on freroll days...

i personally think we should decrease it to like 500 or 600 players. It's pretty good right now but i think with 600 players it would be better, faster game and actually worth playing it. and im pretty sure it would be pretty good. or maybe like someone said earlier....2 freerolls with like 300-400 players each and u cant register for both of em...and take that 350 and divided it in to 175 pool in each of em. lots of way to do this. So i say either keep it as it is or decrease it.

I understand the 15 post count issues...but, I'm going to be honest....This is one of the very few sites who do NOT have a requirement.....one site i noticed the other day being advertised in our freeroll in the form of an avatar i went to has freerolls every day but you have to be deemed by an mod to enter that one.

They don't have a post count the mods decide....I say keep it the same or decrease it.

I just wish there were a way we could punish the people who sit out. I think that hurts more than the FRWs. They have no chance to win, but take up a spot anyhow.

personally I say we change the way you get the passwords, if you want the freerolls password for the week, you make a certain number of quality posts in the week that way the people who get the benfit of the freerolls are those who actually contribute to the community on a regular basis. I just withdrew all my money on all sites since my bonus is void and I plan on just playing the freerolls to build up a br so I would at least like those who play with me to contribute to the site instead of being freeroll whores who join every community just to get the passwords to the freerolls.

Also to answer the OP, keep it the same or make it lower, its a privelage to play in the freerolls. Its a cardschat freeroll for cardschat members, members post, your not a member when u have 16 posts and ur 16th post was "why isnt the freeroll password up yet?!?!?!"
