Jonny.... I dont think they will give you $ for losing. lol

The question is if and how they will let you withdraw your freeroll winnings. Thanks to the above response which states there are no restrictions from withdrawing freeroll winnings. I hope this is true as I have built up a bit, and as most who play there know that is no easy task at pokerstars ...... beating out 11,900 players to have a chance against 2-5,000 batteling for a pot of 2k.

You gotta be nuts to battel those odds .... (I guess I am lol )

I've Managed to build bankrolls off winning meager sums of $2-$4. If I built a bankroll off of a $2 winning of a freeroll up to say $200 wouldn't the $198 that I won off that money be fair game to cash out since it isn't technically "freeroll" winnings but instead money won from money started from freeroll winnings?

I think just about every site requires that you make a deposit before you can withdraw freeroll money.

The main reason for this is security. When you deposit you give a name and address that is tied to a method of payment. Not only does this help to discourage minors, but it makes it more difficult for multi-accounters to cash out.

Of course, it also make it more difficult to cash out, so people are apt not to bother. That's good for business as well.

freeroll $

If you win freeroll $ and then play other tourny's. It helps the site fill the games and legitimizes the site to some extent. This helps the smaller sites look better. The bigger sites only marginally since the tournys are bigger. Once at jungle poker i was at a table where only one person out of 8 actually deposited $. the other person had chat off so I don't know if he did or not. That sites gone but I actually did cash out $100 dollars there. It took over a month though. So I think you can get money from any site,,,,,,,,,,, eventually. But, sometimes the restrictions force you to play ring games in order to fulfill the point requirements to cash out, since little credit is given for tourny play, because of lack of rake. since i play tournys its been kind of a bummer. twice I lost enough to not make a withdrawel because the amount became too low. I think both times it was a cake poker.

That's a very helpful post! I am building my bankroll trough freerolls without having made a deposit yet!... so I appreciate the warning! I am only playing on FullTilt, but I'll remember that!

Since the thread is so long now (13 pages!!! ), is there a place were someone kept tracks of all the sites and if you need to deposit first or not?

this is not true on bodog. i never deposited any money and won $75 from them in that 30pt fr every night for $500. and i played some sng's and made some and lost some then got them to send me a chek for $50 and they did it. so i dont know exactly why you said this. Exactly what sites do this?

I have to disagree on 1 point.
I have won 240$ in a freeroll on pokertime. I was immediatly able to withdraw all the money. NO question asked. I still have not deposited, while i got to get a nice BigBag at my local coffeeshop on the expences of poker.

Online poker is a recreation for me. Its not real poker, therefore I have a hard time taking it serious. Do it for the rush i get from the cards turning up. Usually from the big stack calling down my A-A all in with 2-5 and drawin a river straight. Happens quiet often.

I just won $17.50 in today's Bodog $100 added. Let's say that I wanted to withdraw my winnings. Considering that I have never deposited any money into my Bodog account, would a withdrawal of the freeroll winnings be possible?

I tried to read as many of the posts as possible to find out, but, I got bored.

Either way, I don't have any intention of withdrawing it. In fact, I am perfectly happy with not even spending. I just want to play freerolls 'cause they're so damn fun!

Thanks.

Best thing to do is read Bodog T&C, or email support and ask them directly. Most sites (not all, but most) require you to have made a deposit before withdrawing any winnings.

well most sites have a min deposit to cashout, however I have recieved $ via netteller to my bank on 2 sites, all freeroll winnings (totalling 1600$
the3dpoker gave me the majority of that, and I dont think they changed any requirements, and jungle was the other, but under new amnagement and some sucky new changes, and that i think they svrewed over many people out of their $$, i avoid them.
I sure hope there may be more, if any can let me know if they found any...seriosly check the3dpoker tho
and gl to all

he there peoples I was wrong about carbon poker well sort of here's what they say about free roll winnings

If you wish to make a withdrawal of Freeroll winnings you simply need to fulfil the following criteria.
  • Any Freeroll winnings can be withdrawn after 7 days. However, during this 7 day period your winnings will be placed into your Carbon Poker player wallet and can be accessed for immediate play.

Todays results so far

How about this for a day on the freerolls

Doyles room $200 super turbo = 5th form 2700 winning $13.50
Doykes room $500 = 68th from 870 winning $1
Bodog $500 = 17th from 4600 winning $3.50
Bodog $500 = 59th from 1300 winning $1.75
Absolute poker $50 freeroll = 19th from 6700 winning $1.95
T6 poker 30 euro freeroll = 12th from 1000 winning .3 euros
T6 poker 30 euro freeroll = 9th from 1000 winning .75 euros
T6 poker 200 euro freeroll = 32nd from 2000 winning 2.4 euros.

And at the time of writing I am still in a $500 bodog freeroll with 1700 runners and we're down to the final 140..

So going well
