And i also acidentally xed out of a screen and lost half my money.... this is rediculous

I played in a tourney on there. I was 2nd in my line and first two were suppose to advance. Yeah, 3rd place definitely advanced while I was knocked out :??

I don't like it

Here's the deal. Poker is supposed to be a game of chance. It is sometimes supposed to reward the guy willing to take the biggest risk. When you take certain variables out of the game, I think that it encourages bad play. On this sight, if you hit a piece of the flop, you bet aggressive, all of the time. Reason being, you have to maximize chips...points. But, there is no looknig ahead to the position that you will be in next hand. Poker is soooooo much more than a hand by hand game. Reducing it to that is not healthy for players or for the game. Try if you like, and good luck. But I don't like it.

I wanted to look at this tourney at Duplicate, and can not find it.

I had a previous account there and am unable to enter this, and am wondering if it is visible to those who followed Nicks original post and deposited?

It's listed as "Special $500 Gtd." or something very similar. I think it's the only freeroll in the lobby.

I see that there are only 10 registered so far, but they did a software update, and so I am now having server issues as well. :/ A pop-up comes up asking to verify info to make sure it's legal for me to play...which they should have already done when I signed-up/deposited.

I was all good, pre-registered, tourney showed up in 'registered for' section, etc. But I logged in earlier today and it did an update. After the update, a new sign-in window opened (which I mistook for member log-in). I got the 'member already exists' message and THEN I found the little member log-in up top. (breathe). I logged in a just now to be ready and it shows me not registered for anything. Then an alert popped up that the program must close. Then I tried to log back in and the server is busy. Then I checked my mail and saw a "welcome to Duplicate Poker". Then I tried to mail the site and couldn't connect. Sigh.

Now I'm disappointed that I might not get to play just 'cause I made one (easy to make) stupid mistake.

Bleh.

edit: Ok, good. It's not just me

Ok, finally got logged in/verified. I was wrong, it's not the only freeroll, but the others I see are $5 freerolls (obv. not ours). I still haven't played here yet, so this should be interesting for me.

I think that's because they automatically register you when you meet the requirements (see OP). There is no password or anything.

Before the software update, I do think I remember seeing you on the list of registered players. Not totally positive, but almost sure.

I don't know if it still does this but you used to have open the tourney lobby yourself (it didn't open automatically).

Right now it shows 8 -- that it just got canceled?

I'm playing in a SNG at Stars right now, so I didn't notice when that happened, and now can't find the tournament in the lobby. Does it show a minimum entrants requirement in the tournament lobby?

In the main lobby it showed 10 registered. In the tourney lobby it showed 8 registered and stated the minimum as 8, max 999. While I was typing the message up above, got a pop up thanking me for my interest in tourney number whatever but this tournament has been canceled.

edit: The payout structure was winner take all. The tourney doesn't show in the main lobby any more.

Well this is odd. I don't recall seeing an unregister button (although it could have been there and I just didn't notice), but still seems weird. I'll have to talk to Nick about it. :|

IF YOU ARE PLAYING IN FREEROLL NOV 3RD, BE SURE TO SIGNED IN BETWEEN 30 AND 5 MINUTES OF STARTING TIME. EVEN THROUGH YOU ARE ALREADY REGISTERED IN ADVANCE BE SURE TO RE-REGISTER AT THAT TIME. TABLE WILL NOT POP UP IF YOU ARE LATE OR FAIL TO RE-REGISTER.

I'm looking forward to the answers about what went wrong Saturday. I played around there a good bit after Nick posted the freeroll announcement and never had to re-register like an above poster said. Just had to have the tourney lobby open and then I'd wind up at a table.

edit to add: And there was no active register button on my screen in the freeroll tourney lobby.

Thanks, Nick. Do you know if there any special steps we need to take, other than having the tourney lobby open prior to the start of the tournament?

Hm - I downloaded Duplicate through the link above, but they gave me only 5 bucks. Has this promo expired? I admit, my download might have been a bit late perhaps. Or did I miss something?

Today is my birthday!

Hi, Nick. I know I should'n't ask, but it would be a nice birthday gift if I could be directed to find the password for the FT freeroll. I see they are already registering (only 1 so far) and I am exhausted from trying to find the password. If not, thanks anyway!

I have TRIED a freeroll at duplicate and being a gpa 4.0 college grad I couldn't begin to figure out what was happening. lol That is left for the rocket scientists!

Read through this thread; there's plenty of honest opinions.

WTF happened? I was told that 14 were registered, then dropped to 4 about 5 minutes before it started? Is this correct?
