Bankroll contest tourney results and discussion thread

this thread is for your tournament results and contest discussion. below are the rules and entrants. pay close attention to the bolded sections.

dj11, skoldpadda, Pothole, and I are going to pay for four players to buy in to a Full tilt $5.50 cardschat game. This contest is for the newer members trying to build a bankroll through freerolls. We are gonna help you get a jump start, all you have to do is follow a few simple rules, and play poker.

The rules are as follows.

1. You must have 50 posts by august 1st. This will be a requirement to play our freerolls by August 1st.

2. Eligible players have to play five cardschat freerolls over a two week time span. We will then take your three best finishes and average them. The two players with the best three game average will win the contest.

3. You must post at least five hands that you had trouble with from the freerolls in the tourney analysis forum, one from each freeroll. if you have never posted in the analysis forum, be sure to read this thread before you do. www.cardschat.com/f51/hand-analysis-posting-guidelines-68850/

4. You must post your results in this thread with the tournament ID so that I can verify your finish. we would prefer that you provide a screenshot but if you do not know how, your finishing position, tournament ID and pokersite at which the game was played will suffice.

5. The Full Tilt buy-in game will be on the 9th of August at 5:30 pm EST it will be our $200 Added, $5 buy-in tournament. Be sure you are available for this time. If not, we may be able to make an exception.

6.You must update your cardschat user profile to list all of your pokersite user names, this will be a requirement to play in cardschat freerolls by august 1st as well. you must also list them here so I can keep track of everyone. for this contest, i am giving you two days to get this done. If you do not have all the sites downloaded that we have freerolls on, you can find a link to all of them here. Poker Sites - Play at the Best Online Poker Sites!

This contest will start on Tuesday, July 22nd (12:01 server time) and run until Tuesday August 5th. You must sign up between now and the start date.

here are the entrants. good luck and have fun!

+ Rep to all 4 of you sponsoring this event to help change the future of our members. I must say this is a very well planned event indeed! The move from freeroll madness to playing a cash buy-in game against the very talented people who regularily play this game will be quite a learning experience! I remember my first game sposored by another CC member and deeply appreciate all I've gained from my experiences in that game.

Best of luck to all entrants. Make sure you take plenty of time reading and posting in the strategy forums, practice what you learn and bring those new skills to the buy in game....you're going to need them!

That's what the last thread was for DblA.

Thanks for getting me on chiefer, and also to DJ, and Skold and pothole. Most interesting contest I've seen since joining.

I've got quite a few posts (spam count) but am still pretty new. To those even newer who might not know about the Pantin Adventurebound Challenge its found in the lounge. Last player standing starts the thread for every new freeroll.

Come join if you're playing tonight. I hope I stay in long enough to find a good hand to analyse.

Thx for the entry into this opportunity Chiefer. I do not think I will be able to get the 5 freerolls in 2 week span requirement (I would if I could just auto fold but I'm not a jerk like that) but I surely will try. Great opportunity here, greatly appreciated.

God I suck, Well I am out in 528th (EHLShakes) when my flush got out beat with a FH. I always have a hell of a time getting started in tournaments and it happened again tonight. Man I am tired of going out so soon in tourneys.

Edit: Figure I would post a link for the Hand that knocked me out since it was about the only hand I played the entire tournament: http://www.cardschat.com/f51/flushed-out-119793/

Yeah, I always seem to lose with QQ too, at least the guy had AK instead of A rag. Still didn't necesarily justify his call of my shove since he called w/ A high no pair & rivered the A, but he had a bunch of chips & was willing to gamble.

For those of you who don't know it, you probably have the HH's on your computer.

Try this;
My comuter > Local Disk (C > Program Files > Full Tilt Poker > HandHistory > { yourname} then sort by date with the most recent date at the top. click that file and browse thru it. It will probably have the hand that knocked you out, and will probably be a laborious, but WORTHWHILE file to browse thru.

You can click and paste into a HH post. Using the converter is not necessary.

Similar procedure at Stars, bodog doesn't send HH's, for Ultimatebet you need to remember where they store them if you are storing them, and Carbon is weird.

good job all! keep it up.

an interesting question came up. 5 freerolls in a two week period is more than doable. some of you may play more than 5. some of you may only play 5. for those of you who play more than the 5 required, only the first 5 tournaments that you play will count. i think this is the only fair way to do it.

on a side note, i've decided to add a prize for the player that comes in 5th place. since there will be four 1st place finishers, the 5th place finisher technically is second place. however, you will have to wait until the contest is over to find out what it is.

Good showing for the first freeroll, I only have tilt so I'll just play those.
Hand History is easy when you just bypass the damn converter. I'll try it that way next time, maybe. Good game all, thanks parker. I've read a few of the HH I'll have to comment on them later.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the converted HH's. I'd much rather read through the standard HH file, I just converted mine because that's what they said to do in the guideline post.

there are two freerolls today. one at bodog at 3:05pm est. and one at ultimate bet at 8:00pm est. for those of you that can play both, this is a good chance to get ahead in this contest.
