YOUR POKER BUDGET

I haven't really seen this brought up here yet. How much do you bring to a site? How much do you allow for losing? How much do you take out? And do you have a formula you wish to share.

I have limited funds with which to play with so I start with one site minimum. When I triple that amount I withdraw 2/3's of the amount and. deposit half of that in neteller and the other half in my bank account.

I feel I'm pretty well covered there. I play with what i have at the site, banking my initial investment and then having money to play at another site if I wish. So far this has covered me now that i am on a losing streak. My original investment was covered, I made a profit and took it out and played with my winnings.

Losing streak or not I am still ahead of the game. The only downfall to this is if you give in to your losing streak and redeposit out of your winnings. For that I factor in the "fun money factor".

I quit smoking, don't drink that much anymore, and don't go to the movies, (it's not that bad), so the money that i figured that would have gone to that stuff I call my mad money. For me it's a budgeted amount of $20 a month. I use that for my poker fund. I do not redeposit, (if losing),until the beginning of the month. If I lose that early on, well that's what freerolls are for.

I try to deposit the same - $20 a month - but sometimes I feel to much tilt, blow it inside the hour and end up redepositing. I'm not really that good at poker for the moment but I've managed to hold onto my last month's $20 which is a landmark for me.

I usually play .50/$1 limit hold'em by the way.

I deposit whatever the minimum is for the site's deposit bonus, or $300, whichever is greater. $300 because I need that much to be comfortable playing at $1/$2 limit tables. Once I make the transition to $2/$4, that minimum will be $600, etc.

I cash out whatever I earn at a site to my NETeller account, in increments of $200. Of that, half goes into my bankroll (well, half STAYS in my bankroll, I should say) and the other half goes to my bank account.

The exception would be if I'm depositing at some site only to play in a CC event, but if I deposit to actually play, I won't go in with less than $300.

I also like to keep $600 in my NETeller account at all times for when Stars decides to do a reload bonus. Those are pretty easy to clear, and I really like PokerStars.

My bankroll is pretty small. I usually deposit the minimum at any site. I'm beginning to think that I should deposit more so that I can branch out my play a little more and get away from what seems to be a free-for-all at the lower limits that I'm forced to play at.

I never deposited any

I'm not comfortable with my game skills yet, but I plan a=on depositing $50 for the pokerstars $25 buy-in tourney on Feb. 5 if I win any amount of money there I may reconsider depositing in the future. Truth I can't afford to lose any so decline on depositing any.

I will only allow myself 25 dollars a month for online play and only deposit money if the account is down to zero. If i start the month off with $5.00, than that is what i use for the remainder of the month. This plan sucks sometimes but i have to keep pocket money for home games and dog food.

I usually deposit the minimum that the site allows. I only get to play online about once a week so I only deposit again when it's gone or when it's really low.

Bubbasbestbabe, I like to use the Double/Half formula. All it really is that you deposit enough to feel comfortable enough to play with. When you double your investment take out half of the profit. This allows you to build a bankroll while backing your losses when you hit a bad run. This is just what i do and it seems to work for me. GL to you at the tables and this formula if give it at try.

Here's a typical month in the Dog household.
I deposit $100.00 on the first of the month. I split that with my wife. By the end of the first day I split my original deposit plus whatever profit I've made with my wife who has already gone bust. Then I shut her off for a week and she does the same to me. At the end of the week I break down and again split whatever I have with my wife who proceeds to piss it away like a drunken sailer. Bad beats.

I can usually drag this out for about half a month before I am vanquished to the micro limit tables while she waits in the background for me to get up to
10 bucks so I can once again split it with her as the minimum tranfer is $5.00.

I'm definately improving. Last month with my original $50.00 I made it all the way to mid January while in the same period transferring $225.00 to my better half.

Ha! FD, this ^^ sounds just like me and my husband in my early poker days. I love it. True, I still piss my money away , but now I have my own accounts (used to play under my husbands account) and I generally leave his alone. Too funny! Nice job, too!

That is about the funniest thing I have read this week. That's hilarious. Thanks for the amusing post and the chuckle.

Cheers!

I'm a minimum depositer myself. Then I try to hit a low limit sng to get things started. After that I go to the low limit ring games.
