I just won 30$, on RVP, I got dealt pocket 5s, cal the bb, floped trips, bet 1$ guy raised to 2$ I called, another 5 came!!! He goes all in, I call, he flips 2 pair and he's drawing dead.

If you're taking the just bet the minimum approach when you flop a monster and then get raised, don't just call man! Come back over the top of him, only so much that he'll still call though.
It doesn't matter in this situation because you won all you could from him anyway with his all-in, but you should play that harder.I play at RVP too, and I play tight aggressive. I don't play many hands preflop but when I flop a monster I bet pretty highly (with some exceptions, i.e. bad positioning) because at Royal it's hard not to have callers. Don't worry about getting predictable and getting no action either. No one at Royal seems to have the patience to learn everyone's betting habits (which you should do because it will bring in even more pots for you at a place like Royal!). Just some friendly advice. Nice hand by the way. Just wait til you're playing where the average pot is around $30 and if you get a good hand you'll make anywhere from $50 to $200 on a hand. Royal is a gold mine.Jon |
