WSOP Main Event Question?

not sure how to ask question.

If i was to play the main event, and go bust the first day, i dont get a ranking? I finished something like 5600th place, i just went bust the first day. they dont start giving out ranks/finish numbers until the prize pool is awarded?

you will be going in to that toruny called "DEAD MONEY" and if you did really well I dont think they would give a ranking, you would just be given the place of lets say 345th witch is in the money

The 1st day is actual several days long with a different group playing each day so I don't know how they could give an accurate placing for the 1st day

this years main event is going to be 15 days long with 8000+ people
i cant wait ti get there

correct, so they dont get a rank. They dont start telling people ;youve finished in #### place until the money?

so what your talking about as far as a rank is this theres 8000 people in the tourny you finished in 5600th place that not a rank the the place you came in 5600th and the guy that went ouyin 8000th thats his place he came in the tourny

They don't give a "ranking" or finishing position until 1 place before the money.

What's weird about that site....take a look at the celeb poker showdown ads., not only do the ads look all crappy & pixelated (especially the ad on the bottom right), but Hellmuth looks like a 70's swinger. . .lol

Looking at the site, last year 5,619 people entered and 560 people got money, while the 1 person that bubbled won a seat in the 2006 Main Event (so I guess the REAL bubble is bubbling the bubble, since you get nothin').

So I'm guessing that it's the top 10% of the number of entries rounded down to the nearest 10 that get a rank, and the very last of those gets a seat in next years Main Event.
