WSOP Main Event Have any of you people out there invested any of your money in betting on the Main Event. I have had a couple of bets on players reaching the Final Table Just adds to the interest $20 on Hellmuth @ 80/1 $20 on Raymer @ 125/1 And before anyone out there says "Its a lottery or the like" I know it is. Anyway I won quite a bit on Tiger @ the British Open so why not play up the winnings Last edited by withawedge : 27th July 2006 at 3:25 PM. Reason: spelling mistake

I've got £5 on each of 22 guys (to make the final 10) The odds range from 80-1 to 200-1, so if one of them makes the final ten then I'm happy. You can't really call it a serious bet with a field this size, but it adds a little interest The main-stream bookies are giving awful odds, so shop around. Only 1 time out of the 22 was the best odds with a major high-street bookmaker. Most times they were way off the pace. William Hills were offering 45-1 (to reach final 9) on a player which I got as 170-1 (to reach final 10!) Welly

Well after two days play, my 22 are down to only 8:- Chris Ferguson 80-1 (to reach final table) Darrel Dicken 100-1 ( to reach final table) Barny Boatman 150-1 (to reach final 10) Surinder Sunar 160-1 (to reach final 10) David Pham 180-1 (to reach final 10) Annie Duke 140-1 (to reach final 10) Allen Cunningham 170-1 (to reach final 10) Josh Arieh 180-1 (to reach final 10) Also have a fairly large bet at Ladbrokes that none of their players will reach the final 40. They now have 13 players left. We shall see. Just waiting for all of my 8 to bust out in day 3 Welly ps now I'm waiting for Chuck to tell me off for not backing Negreanu

As far as I am aware, at the start of day 4, I will be down to:- Chris Ferguson 80-1 (to reach final table) Surinder Sunar 160-1 (to reach final 10) Annie Duke 140-1 (to reach final 10) Allen Cunningham 170-1 (to reach final 10) The only one I dont know about for sure is Chris Ferguson. Didnt see him get knocked out though, so hopefully he is there. The Ladbrokes 13 is down to only 5, and the dangerman, John Gale, has been knocked out. As a consequence they have brought in the odds even further to 2/5. Is increasingly looking like a good payday. Welly

re: WSOP Main Event poker And then there were 2, with 135 people left:- Annie Duke 140-1 (to reach final 10) currently 26th with 919,000 Allen Cunningham 170-1 (to reach final 10) currently 70th with 503,000 Go Annie, Go Annie, Go Annie The Ladbrokes 5 is down to 1. The guy I am cheering to lose is Kevin Daly. Currently in 53rd with 622,000. Very tempting to call Laddies and ask if they want to buy the bet off me. I guess we shall see what time conjures up Welly

yep, Daly finished in 120th, so the Ladbrokes bet is a winner Duke was out in 88th, but Cunningham is still alive with only 27 left. If he makes it to the final 10 it will be a sweet little bonus He has about an average stack size, so I guess anything could happen.

| It looks like Gold has a bit of Hendon Mob history, not much, but he is still there. I think I am going to play safe and not "re-invest" any of the Cunningham winnings. At some point you just have to be happy with your lot. Gold or Cunningham or A.N.Other, fine by me. As long as one of the Poker Stars 3 doesnt win, then at least it will make a pleasant change. | re: WSOP Main Event poker Lol, took your time, you're slacking Didnt like the odds on Hellmuth, Ivey, Negreanu, Hachem and several others, so I point blank avoided them in favour of better odds. As for Chris Moneymaker, well I didnt think 5000-1 to reach the final table was generous enough Welly |
