WSOP learn a lesson from watching the final table

I was lucky enough to be signed up for some site that emailed me a link to a live feed of the final table of the WSOP main event. Don't want to ruin alot for people, but I must say there was some excellent poker played by everyone. The biggest glaring mistakes I saw all came from players overplaying pocket jacks preflop. I know jacks are a strong hand but I'm sure we've all dumped a tournament pushing in on them early. When you watch it pay attention it will teach you jacks aren't that solid of a hand.

I know the jacks you're referring to as they put 2 people out of a tournament. But weren't there pocket queens against them both times? There are only 3 pocket pairs better than jacks to start with. To be fair, that's a bit unlucky for pocket jacks to get beat by a bigger pocket pair. I understand if you're playing them after a raise, a call, and a reraise, that may be a bad play to not lay them down. But, if you lead out for a raise with jacks and are just called, you might be in trouble because you have no idea what hand you're up against. On a ragged flop, you probably think you have the best hand, but up against a bigger pocket pair...a bit unlucky.
