Wsop event 52

What exactly is this event about? What is triple chance? I tried looking it up on the web but could not find the answer. This is a new event correct?

I looked it up on the structure sheet.

"Players begin with $3,000 in Tournament Chips. Players may receive (2) additional Add-ons for $3,000 in tournament chips each, anytime during the first three levels. Any player that has not taken their add-ons by the end of the third level will automatically receive them. All levels will last 60 minutes. Breaks will be every two levels and last 20 minutes. Dinner break will be at the end of level 6 and last 90 minutes. Play will continue on Day 1 until the completion of level 10. Play will resume at 2 PM on June 29, 2009, and play down to the final table. Day 3-Final Table at 2 PM. 5.6% of the total entry pool will be withheld for entry fees, and 2.4% of the total entry pool will be withheld for tournament staff. "

Almost sounds like a re-buy tourney.

Must be a nightmare to mangage who has taken the additional chips and who has not.

Probably not, just give them 2 "Rebuy" chips and they can trade it in for the chips. I'm sure they have everything well planned out to make it easy during the tournament.

It's just a limited rebuy tourney.

sounds like they don't have to pay for the rebuy though!!! right ?

Since they took away all the rebuy tourneys this year, there are a few of these triple chance tourneys to take their place. Very interesting structure and makes you have to strategize from the second you get to your table, whether to take all 9000 right away, or just take the 3000 and rebuy if one busts.
