You could try sending an e-mail request for info to >> http://www.harrahs.com/CustomerService.do? Somewhere last year I seem to recall seeing a page on the wsop.com site for employment opportunities. You might also try there and send an inquiry e-mail. Another option is to contact the Rio in Vegas where the events are held. Since the gaming is on Rio property it is likely their gaming license (not Harrah's) being used for the table action. In that case it may be Rio employees doing the misc jobs. In any event you would need a Nevada Gaming Permit to work in any casino at any job. They are $75 for a 5 year permit, requires fingerprints and a background check.

re: WSOP 10 Jobs poker This thread makes this other thread even more creepy, if that's possible... In other news, nevadanick has a good answer. I've seen the ads for dealers at the WSOP but not for the other misc jobs.

From talking with other dealers from other casinos in different states..... The WSOP brings most of it's crew for the WSOP from other Casino's, both sister companies and other affiliated casinos. They do still post ad's for dealers, only because they need so many.

I need someone to carry out all my winnings next year to my limo. So if you don't mind working for minimum wage at graveyard hours you are hired. Seriously though at the very bottom of wsop.com you will see an employment oppurtunities link. Check it out maybe you will find something.

re: WSOP 10 Jobs poker My friend , who is a dealer here in vegas worked it last year and you have to audition for dealing and even if you are chip running, it all falls in the same cat. they pay you a salary, the job lasts 1 and a half months but like 300 a day plus bonus when you complete

A friend of mine who is now a floor manager in one of my local poker rooms lived in Vegas for about 5 years. She dealt for a couple of WSOPs and then became the manager of a team of 42 dealers from all over the country who travelled around dealing the WSOP circuits. So there's the added problem that this chicka might not work in Vegas year round and the very real chance that she might not be dealing the WSOP 10. Now let's assume that this isn't about the girl at all Given your lack of experience and the visa hassles, why not check out the job scene at the WSOPE? |

yeah i think that they dont hire people but instead they just use dealers that already work in that casino or other casinos. If you want to get a WSOP job then you must apply for a casino in Las Vegas that frequently hosts WSOP tournaments like Harrah's Casino. That would be your best bet no pun intended lol.

What i wanna know is how do these dealers get choosen, grant it, there are thousands of them at the beginning but how do you pick the dealer for the FINAL TABLE. On top of that, do they get paid extra for that, i would like to think so but than again i think i would be pretty stoked just to be dealing at the final table

well if you notice the final table poker dealers are usually the regular dealers and they have been dealer at final tables for some time. So I think they give those jobs to the most experienced poker dealers the ones that have been dealing in the WSOP the longest.

Really? I see loads. The biggest and most common one is dealers that either don't pitch or pitch badly. Often they'll move their whole forearm when you should be able to do it without taking your pitching hand away from the deck and without taking either hand away from your body. They often spread flops messily, even on shows where they get multiple opportunities to do it. And the way dealers in the $50K HORSE used to put upcards on the table and then slide them over to the players used to make me cringe... just turn it and pitch it for crying out loud! Watch something with really good dealers like the Aussie Millions or the old WPT events from the Aviation Club in Paris (the second one's not really fair of course because the French deal a different style - the skill is undeniable though) and then go back to something like a WSOP or WPT event. The standard on those shows is pretty bad if you know what you're looking for and it's even worse on some others (British shows, I'm looking in your direction). |

Hiring for WSOP will begin late February for rehires only. All other interested candidates will be required to audition. To be considered for an audition please submit an application by selecting Employment Opportunities or visit www.Harrahs.com/employment and select World Series of Poker.
