OK - hadn't actually thought about that. What's the difference normally?
In the past, I've actually found chip tricks to be harder to do with the tourney chips at our local casino, as they tended to be lightweight plastic and even slightly mismatched in size. Last time I played there they'd just upgraded to shiny new tourney chips that were properly matched and a better weight, basically the same as their cash game chips. When I practice though I'm mostly using heavier clay chips with a lead centre. |

Great posting. Thanks for putting that up! That was just plain sick. I haven't seen half of those tricks before. I knew about the butterfly, but have never seen a variation where someone uses 5 chips instead of 4. Whenever I'm bored working at a fun corporate event and no one's playing at my table, I work on my chipping but I just can't seem to get the hang of some of them. Not too bad at stacking chips...depending on the type of chips I can do a pair of 10 stacks on each hand simultaneously. I think it's really important to learn these tricks on both hands so that you can do them at the same time and be even more flashier or even to get a good workout for your fingers...never know...may help prevent arthritis when you get older!
I also find myself practicing while walking around school and at work. Helps me relax and focus on my thoughts. Currently just playing at dropping a chip on the table and having it bounce on a stack of chips. Can get it maybe 1 in 20 tries but it's more of a fluke than anything! |
