The worst day ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today i have lost my full bankroll at poker.com of $320.
The bad beats i had had today have just been amazingly unbelievable.
I dont think im gonna play poker for a long long long time.
I have been allin 3 times today with AA preflop and lost, my straights and flushes just get beat to higher straights and flushes.
Its horrible being on tilt, when i had $50 left i took it all to one table ended up goin all in with a queen high flush and he had the king high flush.
I really wish i just stopped playing for the day, but instead i moved up stakes.
I was really playing ok before i got all the bad beats.
Now i cant belive what ive done, the problem is i feel i have to go up each day and if i dont then i will just keep playing.
If i lose a buyin then i convince myself i cant leave the table till ive made it back again.
So im having a break from poker for a few weeks atleast, hopefully ill come back and not go broke again...

I hate even saying this considering you are obviously still on tilt. But, if I don't someone will.

You need to take a look at the Building a Bankroll article.

Sorry for the run of bad luck.

Ouch, that`s rough.

Aces, we all have bad days. I had one yesterday that really p****ed me off. Still, meaning no offence, but that can`t break you if you keep your head and exercise sensible bankroll management.

Never ever sit down with more than 10% of your BR. Then, if you lose your buyin, it`s an annoyance, not a catastrophe.

Check out the Articles (tab at top of page). There is more there about bankroll management.

Man that's rough...sorry to hear that.

Best advice would be to try and get some value out of the experience....

ok...here's something to look back on...
1) Did players draw and hit when you took odds away for the draw? Did you "over bet" the take away? ..
2) Did you lose a lot of pots due to "kickers"?
3) Did you push with two pair on a board with a possible flush or str8 already out there?
4) Did you call on draws when NOT given odds?

If yes to any of these, be sure to fix these error before playing again.
Check your % flops seen, you may be playing way too many marginal hands.

Down turns and cold decks happen to everyone...the trick is to NEVER forget to manage the bankroll...taking 10% of bankroll to a table is considered high...on a bad strech, I drop down to less than a 5% max...and adjust my table level to suit my buyin.

One really good tip is don't play on the weekends. This is when you are going to see the worst table play.

I've found the ring tables under $5 to be very, very loose and aggressive, and an easy place to loose money. At one point I was down to less than $10, having dropped most of my $100 initial deposit. So, instead I started playing $1 SNG's and have worked my way up to $5 SNG's in less than 2 months. I was using a 30x buy-in as a basis for my bankroll, but have moved it to 50x after reading some articles on here and books elsewhere. Even though the $1 - $5 SNG's do have some loose aggressive players, they usually get put out early and no one takes their place. So, pretty soon you're down to 5 or less and the play much better. This just seemed to work better for me than playing in the feeding frenzies at ring tables

I play on those tables - and actually find that people can be quite tight with bets as small as 2c!

I only play with small amounts, like 0.10/0.25 tables, taking in $5 - and usually leave with about $10 - $15 after an hour or so! One occasion, reach $30 before going back down to $24 then leaving!

I find leaving a table with a reasonable amount then re-starting taking a smaller amount is a good way to play - although it limits how much you can win in a round - it also helps stopping you from changing the way
you play without realising - which I find happens quite alot! Dont know about any of you guys, but when I have won a fair amount - I tend to start playing more aggressively, making silly moves and slowly loosing it!

I use to do this quite often, sit at a $0.05/.10 table with $5 and double it then start making stupid plays with marginal hands and telling myself the whole time that as long as I don't go below my original buy-in I'll be fine.that was before I joined CC, and now I walk away with a profit most days.

you was playing outside of your br for sure with $300 it only a few bad beats or bad reads to go broke at a .50/1 table. I would play no high than .15/.25 with $300.

I suppose there is an "under-rolled for your playing level" lesson lurking in that sentence.

I have done the same thing so many times. Once I have a little extra in my account I get greedy and move up in stakes. Then I end up blowing my whole bankroll and feel like crap. I have got to become more discipled if I ever want to have a good sized bankroll. Don't let it get you down just learn from your mistakes and do things differently next time. Good luck to you!

You do realize it's good for you when the other players are bad, right?
