World Tavern Poker

Anyone involved in this poker league? I just heard about it, so I signed up. Played my first tourny yesterday, didn't do so well but it was a good time. I only ever played online, never live, so it was a good experience. It doesn't cost anything, so it's pretty much like playing play money games, but it's still cool that it it opens me up to playing live poker. Does anyone think it's good practice for when I eventually venture to an actual casino, or just induce bad play because everyone is playing for free? Would definately appreciate your thoughts.

I've played in their live events, but after one season of playing I decided not to return. Mainly because I had worked hard to make their regional finals (and I did), only to see that regulars who hadn't qualified snuck in because the regionals were held at the same place as the weekly game. I decided that if they weren't organized enough to ensure that the proper people were playing in their finals, then it wasn't worth my time.

I guess Ill find out. Had a good time anyway, maybe the TDs are are more organized here. Who knows.
