re: World Cup of Poker Invite

Myself and gord962 played a qualifier for the WCOP but alas did not make it. This was months ago and it is now over.

From PokerStars: "Congratulations to Team Poland for winning the 2006 World Cup of poker! Poland reached the finals with Teams USA, Canada, and Israel. In a tough four-way, tag-team battle, Poland emerged with the victory and claimed the World Cup title for its country. Visit the PokerStarsBlog for a recap of the action in Barcelona! "

So does just any site say they are running a "World Cup of Poker" or is there an actual official one?

The first one was full up (too early for me anyway), but you can register for all of them if they are still open (may well be full now). I've got 80p on CDpoker so i'll see if i can run that up on the micro tables at the same time. See you there!

Came 31st in the first one - laughed all the through it, it's identical to Titan (incredible small stack biased). I was out when i got my first biggie KK - when my raise was reraised i knew without a shadow of a doubt what i was up against, but i just had to call to satisfy my curiousity and call!

Making a run at the 2nd one now - already qualified for the semi's so we'll see how long i can stay awake!

I hope i get the ticket - qualified in the second one as well, and the email said you were only supposed to register for one!

I played and won a $1 Sng and a $2 H2H whilst playing these, and bumped my $1.50 up to $9!!

She's my heroine - just a temporary avatar though until the football seasopn starts. Semi's next - looks like 200 playing in the first and 200 in the 2nd, with 50 from each reaching the final. I think i've qualified for both semi's so I should be able to make it (especially as there will be loads of sitouts).

The first game i played straight up - was on a very weak table and was able to chip away at the 2 chip leaders who kept calling then folding to a raise. The 2nd one I won an all-in 2nd hand, then was moved to a table where some guy who had already tripled up was going all in every hand - luckily he still had some chips yet when i got a hand to call him with. Then i was moved to a table with EIGHT sit outs - I didn't communicate to the other humanoid, but we soon started taking turns in raising - every time another human player entered the table, one of us took him out literally within 3 or 4 hands, and we were top 10 for 45 mins, but i got tired and bored and packed up once i got into top 100.
